A few days ago I had the incredible opportunity to participate in an exclusive future scenario workshop hosted by BMW Group and rad°hub at BMW Werk Berlin. This workshop brought together 40 forward-thinking leaders from around the world to shape the story of our future in 2050. The most exciting aspect we discovered about mobility in 2050 is the vision of sharing. Mobility becomes a status symbol, offering luxury and freedom of choice. We explored the concept of smart cities and the increased need for individual mobility, especially in rural areas. Additionally, we discussed the importance of mobility for older people and the potential challenges and opportunities presented by AI. Everything will be digitized where it makes sense, and connectivity will be key. Information will be centrally stored, and security will take on a new significance. The rad°hub by BMW is a groundbreaking initiative that offers a platform to rethink mobility beyond traditional definitions and conventions. It brings together creatives, specialists, and developers from around the world to debate new visions and potential future innovations in small, interactive groups. This interdisciplinary collaboration fosters creativity and opens up new ways of thinking. During the workshops, we engaged in dynamic discussions, exploring the intricacies of activities that will shape our lives in 2050. We exchanged ideas, challenged assumptions, and collaborated on developing innovative solutions to future mobility challenges. Some of the results of our discussions included the importance of prioritizing sustainability in future mobility solutions, the need for flexible and adaptable transportation systems, and the potential for AI to revolutionize the way we interact with transportation. These ideas and insights will be further explored and developed collaboratively to serve as inspiration for future products and services. 🚗🌐 Exciting Insights at the *Mobility Circle* at Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich🚗🌐 I had the privilege of attending the Mobility Circle of Dirk Reusch Stefan Bratzel, Prof. Dr. moderated by Christina Kunkel in Munich. The event brought together industry leaders, OEMs and experts to discuss the current and future trends in the mobility sector. It was truly an enlightening day filled with discussions, speeches and numerous learning opportunities especially in terms of eMobility and the development trends in 2024! Diverse perspectives and experiences were also shared during the panel discussion on corporate mobility from Franz Fehlner, Stephan Tschierschwitz, Steffen Krautwasser and my colleague Robert Matic from SIXT! The diverse range of opinions and experiences presented during the discussion shed light on the various challenges and opportunities associated with corporate mobility. I had the incredible opportunity to attend Fashion Tech Week in Bengaluru, and I am truly inspired by the potential of AI to revolutionize the fashion retail and eCommerce landscape. 👟 As the founder of Solei, an AI-powered shoe size recommender aiming to transform the way people buy shoes online, I was thrilled to share my startup's vision and received positive feedback from industry peers. 🌐 This event brought together brilliant minds and innovative startup founders, all working towards leveraging AI to create smarter, more efficient, and customer-centric solutions in the fashion industry. From predictive analytics and personalized shopping experiences to supply chain optimization and virtual try-ons, the possibilities are endless. 🤝 What stood out the most was the positive and collaborative environment. It was heartening to see industry peers sharing insights, discussing challenges, and brainstorming solutions together. This spirit of collaboration is what will drive the industry forward and help us unlock the true potential of AI in fashion. 🌱 Despite the great possibilities, there was also a meaningful debate about the high costs of AI, both environmentally and financially. "...das ist nicht nur richtig so, das ist ein Muss!" [...it's not just the right thing to do, it's a must!] Thank you Sascha Pallenberg 潘賞世 for your observations and summary of the TAIPEI CYCLE and that you picked NOCA Mobility to be included in your newsletter and podcast (links in comments). Here are a few learnings I am taking away from the show: (1) The big theme at the show was sustainability. But we also saw that while sustainability was the focus at industry events, booth designs and innovation workshops, implementation bears a significant hurdle. With an easy way to share, receive and combine sustainability data, I feel that we are working in our solution exactly at the right time. (2) Another big topic was operational efficiency through digitalisation (I might be biased). In times of a tough market and excess inventory, companies are looking to save costs everywhere that's possible. Our pitch for process automation, optimisation and gaining valuable insights through analytics and AI was well received, however, switching from manual processes and excel sheets won't come without it's challenges. But if it was easy, someone else would have done it. (3) We need to build strong(er) ties with the ecosystem of Asian suppliers. The supply chain of the bicycle industry is truly global and fragmented. Localisation is a big topic, and it is a great strategy for OEM brands to diversify their supply chain. Our roots are in building up the European ecosystem with, for example, the European Bicycle Guide (link in comments). However, historically there simply is a lot of capacity and capability available in non-EU countries (and especially Taiwan), and components/bikes will continue to be imported.
