June is a month bursting with significance, and as a proud black woman-owned, minority business, we stand at the intersection of celebration and advocacy. 🌈 Pride Month - This June, let's amplify our voices in support of LGBTQ+ rights. Did you know? A recent study shows that 46% of LGBTQ+ workers report being closeted at work. It's time for change! 🧠 Men's Mental Health Month- We acknowledge the silent struggle many men face. Statistically, 1 in 10 men experience depression and anxiety, yet less than half seek treatment. 🎊 Juneteenth - This Juneteenth, we remember that 156 years ago, the last enslaved African Americans learned they were free. This momentous day marks a critical point in our history. Dr. Rashonda Harris, our founder, eloquently connects these themes: "June invites us to reflect on our shared struggles and victories. Whether it’s fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, advocating for mental health awareness, or honoring the significance of Juneteenth, each battle moves us closer to a society that cherishes diversity and inclusivity." Join us in celebrating the richness of June and contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive world. #PurpleSheepConsulting #FabulousFridays #PrideMonth #MensMentalHealth #Juneteenth #Inclusivity #Diversity #Change Let's make every day fabulous! 🐑💜

Understanding the historical context of the LGBTQ community is crucial for comprehending the unique challenges diverse communities face during #crises. Our commitment at Crisis Ally is deeply rooted in a #mindset that values #diversity, guiding us in building with inclusivity at the forefront, fostering awareness, and assembling diverse teams. By doing so, we fortify our ability to anticipate, address, and recover from crises as a unified and inclusive entity. Diversity is ingrained in Crisis Ally's values and work, which, in turn, opens our minds, hearts, and ways of thinking, enabling us to avoid #herdingbias. As we delve into LGBTQ History Month, it's noteworthy to reflect on the significant milestones and achievements of the LGBTQ community. This month provides a valuable opportunity to celebrate diversity, acknowledge the struggles, and honor the #resilience that paved the way for progress. Today is the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. The Stonewall riots were led by the most marginalized people in the LGBTQ+ community, including Black and brown trans sex workers. This is why in many cities June is Pride month. When my wife and I visited NYC last month we met up with Edwin Vega, CPCC, PCC at The Stonewall Inn and then went for a walk. I admire how Edwin takes a fierce stand for making coaching a more inclusive and equitable space. He's got a giant heart. If you look at the photo below you'll see it beaming out of his gorgeous smile. A lot has changed in 55 years, and some of the progress we've made on LGBTQ+ rights are being eroded now. We need to take a fierce stand for all of letters, but especially for trans and non-binary youth. What will LGBTQ+ human rights look like 55 years from now, in 2078? Your actions today will impact that future reality. What will you commit to doing, either in your personal life or at work, to ensure trans and non-binary people are safe, included and have equal human rights?

June is Pride Month, and it's a perfect time to step up as allies to the LGBTQ+ community. 🌈 Inspired by insights from White & Case, I’ve shared '5 Ways to Be an Ally During Pride Month'. Here’s how we can all engage: 1. Be Visible in Your Allyship - Show support with LGBTQ+ symbols at work and in public, share Pride events, and participate in discussions. 2. Mind Your Language - Respect and use the terms that individuals prefer when it comes to their identity. 3. Add Your Pronouns - Make it standard practice to share your pronouns, encouraging a more inclusive environment for everyone. 4. Be Mindful About 'Outing' People - Always let individuals disclose their own identity at their own pace. 5. Call Out Negative Behaviors - Stand up against any homophobic, biphobic, or transphobic comments or jokes. "Allies play a crucial role in pushing for change—both within the workplace and in society at large.” - White & Case 📚 There’s much more to learn and do. For a deeper dive and additional ways you can be an ally, check out the full article by White & Case. 🔗 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eT3PNu7m What other actions do you take to support the LGBTQ+ community throughout the year?
