Helping infrastructure businesses create enterprise value... Strategy | Operations | Communication | Engagement | Change
The only constant in life is change. Honestly, I thrive on change - solving wicked problems makes me inordinately excited. I think COVID brought adaptation to the forefront of everyone’s minds - we had no choice really and all got on with adapting to our "new normal". However, the conversation about "life after COVID" (when we could all finally return to the office) underscored an implicit belief that the situation is entirely anomalous, something that needs to be weathered before returning to a “new new normal” with low levels of change, uncertainty, and disruption. Yet, all indications are that increasing volatility, complexity, and rapid change IS the new normal. I could get into detail about the ways that COVID and the "new new normal" are still changing and shaping the corporate landscape, not least of which is the acceleration of digitial and AI, but I will save that for another time. Right now, normal or not, all Australia infrastructure businesses need to be considering new ways to drive change within their organisations — new ways that mobilise employees to actively participate in gathering insights, creating solutions, and providing leadership. There is a difference between thriving and surviving. EALA can help.
In today's ever evolving corporate landscape, navigating change is a given. Succesful adaptation, however, is not. When you look across any modern industry or large organisation, the common ground is that most are attempting to keep up with the speed (and complexity) of change. To compete, businesses must constantly be considering how to move from "where we are" to "where we want to be". Some might call this transformation, but it can be more simply summarised as success. This success hinges on the intricate relationships between and alignment of strategy, operational excellence and people. Whilst most organisations accept that these elements are critical for success, knowing ‘how’ to drive transformation in an efficient and sustainable way is an ongoing ‘unlock’. Particularly since yesterday’s playbook doesn’t always apply to today’s organisational challenges. EALA supports Australian infrastructure businesses to set strategy, embed operational excellence and cultivate positive people power and performance, providing support that is right for today and ready for tomorrow. Prospective organizations can only flourish and secure their future by fully unlocking the potential of their most valuable asset: their workforce. In today's fast-paced world, businesses must be more than ready to create and sustain future-ready talents. According to the World Economic Forum, upskilling is becoming a business imperative. The 2020s are regarded as a decade of significant development for both employees and employers, particularly regarding skill enhancement and career advancement. Studies indicate that the digital transformation will generate 97 million new roles. Moreover, employers anticipate that 44% of employees' skills will become outdated within the next five years and 60% of the workforce will require training by 2027. Therefore, it is unsurprising that businesses need to invest in a holistic approach to upskilling and reskilling their workforce to prepare for AI-driven and purpose-oriented roles. Companies must ensure that their employees remain competitive, agile, and capable of driving innovation. One way to achieve this is by developing pathway tools that help employees visualize their potential growth within the organization and identify the skills underpinning their advancement. However, the initial step in this process is to clearly understand the importance of fostering a purpose-driven culture within the organization. This endeavour begins with recruiting and developing leaders who not only acknowledge the critical importance of such a culture but are also committed to embedding it throughout the company. Businesses can only create a robust foundation for a sustainable future by prioritizing the cultivation of purpose-driven leadership. Find out how important it is for organizations to adapt and invest in the upskilling and reskilling of its workforce to secure their future: https://lnkd.in/gGXkxywd #FutureOfWork #Upskilling #Reskilling #PurposeDrivenJobs #ExecutiveSearch

REFLECTIONS ON DAVOS 2024 THE TALENT CHALLENGE: A SKILLS BASED APPROACH So much water everywhere but not enough water to drink? This quote reminds me of the globally recognised, talent shortage challenge. Extracts below, from a January 15, 2024 World Economic Forum report highlight the current situation *****‘In Europe, around one in 30 jobs currently remain unfilled - or 2.9% - which is the highest rate ever recorded, according to the World Economic Forum's Putting Skills First report. In the US, meanwhile, there are over 3 million more job openings than there are unemployed workers - at 9.6 million and 6.4 million respectively. Talent shortages and tight labour markets impact economic growth. 6 in 10 businesses say skills gaps in the local labour market are impeding their business transformation. More than half (58%) of workers believe the skills their job requires will change significantly in the next five years’ ******* Workforce transformation via a skills based approach as a potential solution, was discussed at the recently concluded World Economic Forum Davos 2024 With this in mind, how can organisations leverage a skills based approach to address talent scarcity and deliver sustainable business growth well into the future? The following are critical enablers: - Thoughtful strategic leadership - Identifying and attracting skills acquired rather than focusing solely on certifications and experience (a purer version of skills based hiring) - Reskilling and upskilling existing talent for the future - Leveraging metrics and AI to monitor progress and alignment with business goals BUT wait a minute! Understanding the skills gaps within yourself and your organisation vs the future of work and its operating environment come first! How are you preparing yourself and your workforce for the future, using a skills-first approach? Professional Coaching could support immensely with this. Have a look at the 6 critical success in the article below and reach out if you will like to discuss further. #talent #skillsbasedhiring #skills #skillsfirst #skillsofthefuture #talentchallenge #wef #worldeconomicforum #acresplus #acresplusprofessionalservices #professionalcoaching #futureofwork #businessgrowthstrategy #coaching #enablinggrowth #workforcetransformation #transformation Cynthia Kikelomo Ajeigbe https://lnkd.in/dbFn2E_k
