Theme: NFO - New Fund Offer (2) Things to check in NFO: NFOs are brand-new mutual funds. So there is no track record or history you can check before investing. This makes it difficult to invest in NFOs. One interesting way to judge NFOs is to look at the fund manager who will manage the NFO after the launch. What is the fund manager’s track record like? How are his/her other mutual funds doing? This can give an indication but is not a sure-shot way of knowing if an NFO will do well. Investors should also carefully read the NFOs SID (Scheme Information Document) to understand how the NFO will invest. At the same time, keep in mind that investing in NFOs is not mandatory. You can always invest in mutual funds with a track record that are easier to judge.
