Our Responsible Investment Report is out today!🌍 In our 2025 Climate Action Plan, we've set two targets for our unlisted real estate portfolio: 1️⃣ Net zero carbon emissions by 2050 for both operational and embodied carbon. 2️⃣ A 40% reduction in operational carbon emissions intensity by 2030. We measure our journey using 1.5°C decarbonisation pathways by CRREM - By the end of 2022, 41% of our portfolio was aligned with the 2022 CRREM decarbonisation pathway, a significant increase from 26% in 2021. Yet, there is so much more work to do: by 2030, 18% of our portfolio is projected to be aligned with the pathway, but none of the portfolio meet the 2050 requirements. Encouragingly, our greenhouse gas intensity has fallen by 4% from 2019-2022, with a 10% decrease in the office sector and a 16% drop in retail. Refurbishing existing assets may present significant opportunities to reduce carbon emissions of our portfolio - We took our Parisian asset "M" on boulevard de la Madeleine as a case study. It's under heavy refurbishment in line with our sustainable design strategy. We've implemented a circular economy strategy, prioritized low-carbon materials, innovated in energy efficiency while improving our tenants' well-being. The results?⭐ 🌱 5,000 tons of carbon emissions saved through reuse and low-carbon materials 💚50% reduction in energy intensity 🌍 50% reduction in carbon emissions over the building's life cycle "Chapeau bas" to Alexis DELOM and Louis-Victor Lefèvre, and the entire team for their exceptional efforts!

What was NBIM's number one reason for risk-based divestment in 2023? Human rights. Specifically, insufficient risk management related to human rights and exposure to markets with significant risk of violations of human rights violations. // Despite the ongoing regulatory rollercoasters regarding due diligence legislation ( CSDDD👀) , it is clear that investor-demand for thorough human rights due diligence is here to stay.

𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 The SWFI GWC, organised by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, was an invitation-only event attended by Cecilia de Orbegoso for Deheza Ltd and hosted in partnership with the City of London. This gathering brought together global wealth leaders to engage in insightful discussions, share global investment strategies, and access opportunities aligned with the current global economic and financial landscape. David Pitt-Watson, a leading practitioner, author, and advocate in the field of Responsible Investment, commented, "I worry about how we teach finance. It's all about techniques that give you the right answer. But in real life, how much do we use those techniques? I see sustainable finance 30 years from now as a real challenge if we don't fix things. We will be in real trouble in the next 20 years." Isabella da Costa Mendes, a founding partner at ImpactA Global added, "Most impact investors will pay attention to the risk of environmental impact, but we need to pay attention to the people and communities. To be fair, more needs to be done, but the fact is that every sustainable investor or impact investor will need to look at the people and communities and the effects on them." Elvira Lefting, MD at Finance in Motion highlighted, "As investors, we need to be aware that supply chains are at risk and require investment to become more resilient. Supply chains represent an investment opportunity that spans sectors and needs. Decarbonisation is not just an ESG mantra; it is genuinely necessary, and supply chain investment is the most common and needed investment in Emerging Markets." #deheza #event #GlobalWealthConference2024 #economy #finance #sustainability

Episode nine of Talking Transitions delves into the emerging world of blended finance to combine public and private funds to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy. https://lnkd.in/dyemHc6q One of the key challenges with funding the climate transition is that many sustainable development projects, particularly emerging markets, are not commercially viable, due to high up-front costs and long pay-back periods. By combining public and private capital through blended finance, it is possible to leverage public funding to help reduce the risk and lower the cost of capital for private investors. This in turn can make it easier to attract further private investment in sustainable development projects. Joining David Weston in this episode of Talking Transitions are: Will Rhode, Global Private Equity ESG Leader at EY Kara Succoso Mangone, Head of the Sustainable Finance Group at Goldman Sachs Karen Fang, Global Head of Sustainable Finance for Bank of America Emmanuel Lagarrigue, Co-Head of Global Climate Strategy at American investment firm KKR

👉 Impact investing : « you have to accept some bias. And it depends the generation we speak with - as we often speak to 2 generations. The younger generation is less sensitive to the deviation with MSCI World Index for instance. » 👉 « When you are advising clients one the long term, you need to have benchmarks or track records on the same term, decades for instance - and we are at the very beginning of the ESG story. But you can not ignore the evolution of regulation, the history of labour relations, etc. Do not look just to the sfdr number, both quant and qual analysis are needed here. » Xavier Hannaerts Family Partners shares Interesting insights during the Panel III « Conscious capital : investment strategies for growth and resilience » : #wealthmanagement #wealthtech #fintech #assetmanagement #foam24 #hubfinance #familyoffice #ESG #impactinvestment
