Rhenus inland waterway shipping expands its network in Belgium 🚢🌍
As part of an increase and as a sign of confidence in the cooperation, Rhenus Partnership is expanding its connections to Antwerp and is now operating independently on the Belgian market. This was made possible by increasing the shareholding in DGA Shipping to 100 percent 📝
DGA Shipping is a renowned player in the Belgian inland shipping industry and offers inland waterway transportation throughout the country and the entire ARA region (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp). Its specialization in dry cargo shipping in the bulk, general cargo and project cargo sectors is a perfect match for Rhenus. With transportation offerings to all ports along the Rhine and its own transport capacities, DGA Shipping is an invaluable addition to the Rhenus team 🌊
DGA Shipping and its team are already known at Rhenus thanks to their previous collaboration. The Rhenus inland shipping experts are therefore looking forward to working even more closely with DGA Shipping. The focus will be primarily on Rhine transportation to Antwerp. However, the connections to Belgium are to be expanded in general to assume a leading role in the market. This will enable Rhenus to offer its customers even more flexible services and solutions 💪
Yesterday, in Antwerpen, Belgium, the takeover was finalized by Thomas Maaßen, Managing Director of the Rhenus Partnership and on the left in the picture, and Steffen Bauer, CEO of the previous majority shareholder, HGK Shipping GmbH, with which Rhenus has significantly expanded DGA's business in recent years 🤝
