Pilotless jet fighters that can fly 30 feet above the ground to their targets or straight toward a barrage of enemy missiles are being developed by the United States Air Force to help deter China. The soaring cost of existing military aircraft and advances in flying software have the Air Force pivoting toward a new generation of pilotless jets to bolster a fleet that its leaders say is the smallest and oldest since it became a separate service in 1947. The Air Force wants at least 1,000 of the mini-fighters now being developed, including hundreds within five years. They would escort and protect crewed aircraft such as the F-35 and the new B-21 bomber, carry their own weapons to attack other planes and targets on the ground and act as scouts and communications hubs in the sky. Innovation in the field of air defense technology: what the new VSHORAD MANPADS can do. 🇬🇧🇪🇺 The MBDA company presented its innovation in the field of air defense technologies. 🚀 The VSHORAD portable anti-aircraft missile complex is a short-range weapon with a "fire-and-forget" supersonic interceptor missile equipped with a homing head and image processing capability. The missile has a range of up to 5 km , is designed for round-the-clock operation, is capable of hitting a wide range of air threats, including fighter jets, helicopters and drones. 🔫 Portability makes this complex particularly suitable for ground forces, giving them a significant tactical advantage, in particular, when it is installed on military vehicles.

Last night alone, almost ninety “Shahed” drones were shot down. This is a serious result. I thank everyone for their precision: our mobile fire groups, fighter aircraft crews, anti-aircraft gunners, electronic warfare specialists — everyone. You have done an excellent job in the skies across many of our regions. And it is also crucial to increase Ukraine's skies defense capabilities. We are doing everything for that. And now, if such a significant result can be achieved in the defense against the “Shahed” drones, it is an obvious proof that we can be stronger both in the defense against missiles and in the defense against Russian military aircraft. Everything depends on the weapons in the hands of our warriors. We need reliable air defense systems; we need sufficient range of our weapons. Russian terror must lose every time the occupier tries to destroy life in Ukraine. And it is not just our security. It is the security of everyone neighboring Russia. We will continue to work with our partners — to persuade them, to search for what is needed for our defense in the world and supply it to Ukraine, to cooperate in the production of necessary weapons. All this is our shared defense of everyone in Europe, of everyone in the world who values life.

Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has completed the delivery of all 12 FA-50 Block 10 light combat aircraft to the Polish Armed Forces. This delivery fulfills one of two contracts signed between Poland’s Ministry of Defence and KAI in September 2022. Last year, Poland secured a deal for 12 FA-50 Block 10 jets from KAI valued at USD 705 million. This contract stipulated that the deliveries would be concluded by the end of 2023 and included a comprehensive package of training, logistics, and technical support. The second contract, signed in September 2023, involves the delivery of 36 FA-50 Block 20 aircraft (locally designated as “FA-50PL”) between 2025 and 2028. These aircraft will be equipped with AESA radar, and the Polish Air Force has expressed the intent to integrate AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles into this air platform. The contract for these advanced jets is estimated to be worth approximately USD 2.3 billion. Battlegroup Dnepr Ukraine lost up to 70 troops in the area of responsibility of Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr in the past day. The battlegroup hit the troops and equipment of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces, the 37th Marine Brigade, the 123rd and 126th territorial defense brigades near Novodanilovka and Lobkovoye in the Zaporozhye Region, as well as near Tokarevka, Berislav and Kherson in the Kherson Region. The Ukrainian armed forces also lost three motor vehicles and an electronic warfare system. Air Force and air defenses Last night, Russian forces delivered a massive strike with long-range high-precision weapons and assault unmanned aerial vehicles on Ukrainian energy and defense industry facilities manufacturing and repairing aviation equipment and rocketry, as well as drone assembly and storage sites and the temporary bases of nationalist formations and foreign mercenaries. All the designated targets were hit. Russian air defenses shot down three French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs, 26 Czech-made Vampire rockets and 30 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the past day. Russian operational-tactical aviation, drones, missile and artillery troops have hit the enemy's manpower and military equipment in 143 areas. Tally of destroyed equipment A total of 641 planes, 283 helicopters, 30,950 unmanned aerial vehicles, 575 missile systems, 17,805 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,434 multiple rocket launchers and 13,952 field artillery mounts and mortars, as well as 25,520 special military motor vehicles, have been destroyed since the start of Russia’s special military operation.
