Thoughts on the 2023 St. Mary's University of Minnesota Annual Career & Internship Fair As a Junior here at St. Mary's, I put my continued networking skills to the test and talked to some extraordinary companies, who were fortunately enough, searching for possible interns for this next summer. Sharing demographics, job specialties, and career journeys with some of these employers was an eye-opening experience to be able to grasp the idea of what a possible internship may look like as I compared different environment types between companies. Three companies I was fortunately able to meet and discuss a possible future within the internship industry were Hormel Foods, Metro Sales INC, and Northwest Mutual Bank. Beyond chatting with these fantastic employers, I was able to pick up some knowledge on career expansion. Whether this be changes in work location based on preference or specific job title transfers. Specifically, Hormel Foods pitched their dynamic ability to adapt to employee preference and help interns possibly switch job specifics or industries if their experience wasn't what they were expecting. This was something I found of value in my continued search for future internship opportunities! As a Computer Science student undergrad, I have attended the career fair in Arizona State University for internships coming summer, where the companies recruit eligible interns and give them an amazing learning experience, all the companies that are there in the career fair and their employees helped us understand the skills we need to be an intern, job market, resume building and many more, even though I was not an eligible intern since I am a freshman, still going to career fair and talking to the employees of the company and networking with fellow like minded people have helped a lot, and it is always amazing to explore things. I feel that I need to work more on my skills to be eligible for the internships, and to have an amazing learning experience, overall I feel that internship is a very important opportunity for a college student as it will give an idea and exposure for the college student before he does the job after graduation, and the experience of working as an intern in a company and our micro work impacting in real world at a macro level is surely a thing that is worth doing.

10moRob, I also attended the fair and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of schools represented there for graduate school as well as law school. As someone interested in pursuing both law school and graduate school I was happy to talk to representatives from schools to see what they expected out of students. The amount of jobs in Winona as well was staggering.
