𝗔𝗘𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗬 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 For more than 15 years, Ceptek’s mission has been to accelerate the transition to green energy in the fields of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating. To this end, we are currently developing an aerothermal heating technology that not only reduces and even eliminates our dependence on fossil fuels and synthetic refrigerants, but also generates substantial savings in the medium- and long-term. Aerothermal heating uses a natural refrigerant, CO2, to extract the free energy naturally present in the ambient air. Adapted to the rigorous Canadian climate, the system includes an industrial CO2 heat pump connected to giant outdoor evaporators with an adaptive hot gas defrost kit. With unparalleled efficiency, aerothermal technology primarily allows for a significant reduction in energy bills. A new analysis from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) found that, coupled with building envelope improvements, installing geothermal heat pumps in around 70% of U.S. buildings could save as much as 593 terawatt-hours of electricity generation annually and avoid seven gigatons of carbon-equivalent emissions by 2050.
