Missing People is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting anyone affected by a disappearance and a valued charity partner of Royal Mail for over 10 years. We support Missing People by sending out alerts of vulnerable missing people to our posties’ handheld devices. You can read more about our partnership in our ESG Report at: http://ms.spr.ly/6043iEgT3 This Christmas, our employees are participating in Missing People’s Messages of Hope campaign. We’ll be joining them in writing messages of hope to families with missing loved ones. Christmas is a time to be with family. Yet, for thousands of people, it’s a reminder that their loved one is still missing. These words of support and encouragement will make a difference and remind them that they are not alone. With 10 Million individual taxpayers in our country, not including businesses, imagine the impactful change we could create by each contributing just $2 per week to a registered charity. This simple act would amount to $1,040,000,000 annually, matched as a tax deduction by the ATO. By pooling our resources to one overarching charity, we could have $2,849,315.07 daily to support causes like disease research, homelessness prevention, and infrastructure repair. Australia, the power is in our hands to make a significant difference beyond what our elected officials can achieve. It's time to take control and work together for a better future. #CommunityImpact #ChangeMakers

In January we were able to help and support 1,050 individuals who came to use our free food section to support their own families, and over the course of the last 12 months we have been able to give away the equivalent of 168,968 meals worth of food. These numbers show us 3 things; 1) There is still a huge need within our City to support the most financially vulnerable. 2) The cost of living crisis is showing no signs of slowing, putting more families in a vulnerable position. 3) By utilising the free food we give away, we are able to keep families from requiring an emergency food parcel to survive. However, we cannot do this alone, your support is vital now more than ever and there a few ways you can help us in our quest to keep families from drowning. 1) Have a food donation/drop off point in your place of work. 2) Pleadge a small amount as a standing order to us (could be as little as £1). 3) Have your place of work use their CSR to support our work and set up a corporate standing order. 4) Just continue to share, comment, and like our posts so we can continue to reach out to those that need us and may not know we exist. We need you in the same way our community needs us.

Human Trafficking is a Global Health Crisis that we all need to be aware of. We Run Oakland: For Children was formed because of the high incidence of trafficking in the city of Oakland and Alameda County. However, this issue is not unique to Oakland - the perils of trafficking impact many communities in CA and the United States. No matter what country, state, county, or city you live in, we should all share the humanitarian goal of protecting one another, especially the most vulnerable. To that end, we welcome you to have an Oakland mentality in this anti-trafficking movement. Build community power through awareness, conversation, advocacy, and action. There is even a virtual option to participate, so we have all our bases covered. We would love to see We Run Oakland in your city...We Run Oakland in (insert your city) _____, you fill in the blank! A Sista’s Touch (AST) & DopeOnly (DO) will be hosting our 7th Annual charity 5k run/walk, “We Run Oakland: For Our Children”, to raise human trafficking awareness. The event will be held on Saturday August 24, 2024, from 8am-12pm at Oakland Technical High School. While there are many causes to stand for, WE run and walk for the protection of our children against the greatest human rights violation of modern day time. The most effective way to protect our daughters/sons/grandchildren/nieces/nephews and our community, is to first recognize that human trafficking is a global public health crisis that requires community engagement to make an impact; AND to learn ways you can protect your family and others from the negative consequences to our community. This event is more than just a 5k, it is a family community event, designed to bridge community with resources to help prevent or to intervene where there is on risk of trafficking or exploitation. There are many ways to get involved: YOU can REGISTER to participate, YOU can INVITE others, YOU can DONATE, YOU can VOLUNTEER, and YOU can SHARE the information with family, friends, and professional organizations - We are always looking for Corporate Sponsors. The fight to stop human trafficking begins with YOU! Register now at: https://lnkd.in/gsE_parA Contact us at: Info@asistastouch.org

As we crafted our 2023 impact report, one glaring fact emerged: our referrals skyrocketed by an impressive 48%! This surge vividly illustrates the demand within our community, a reflection of the daunting challenges many are currently facing. I think it is worth mentioning, these figures don't even include the current year, where the need is expected to be even greater and we have seen a huge increase. We're fully committed to stepping up and doing our best to bridge the ever-widening gaps. But we can't do it alone. The reality within the charity sector is tough, now more than ever, which is why we're reaching out for even more support to ensure we can meet the escalating demand. We understand times are challenging, but even a spare $5 at the end of your week can make a significant difference. Your support, no matter the amount, has already made a tremendous impact. If you have the capacity please sign up to give regularly to help us with our mission ❤️ https://lnkd.in/duM4B4MS
