Reflecting on the FUTURE4PRIMA project over a month since its launch underscores its crucial role in advancing collaborative research in the Mediterranean. 🚀 Beyond initial achievement, the project is preparing to host co-creation workshops across EU Member States and Southern Mediterranean Countries this year. 🌍 🤝 These workshops, involving key stakeholders from various EU partnerships, will employ a specially designed methodology for inclusive co-creation. 💡 This approach aims to pinpoint shared research and innovation priorities, addressing the region's food systems, water resources, and more challenges for a sustainable future. 🌱💧⚡️🏥 📆 Looking ahead, the project has a clear timeline: 👉 Co-creation workshops will align R&I priorities and define new strategic goals for the renewed PRIMA partnership. 👉 Scoping workshops and stakeholder engagement events are planned for 2024, with the first widening-related event. 🌐 Stay tuned for updates on the FUTURE4PRIMA project and its progress on its official website, which will launch soon. 📢🔍 European Commission European Research Executive Agency (REA) Horizon Results Booster PRIMA Program Segretariato Italiano di PRIMA - Università di Siena

This important report offers an in-depth look at social energy frameworks across Europe, focusing on countries like Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Greece. It enriches our framework and guides our future actions, enhancing stakeholder engagement pathways. 👥🌐 Ethnographic Insights and Community-focused Initiatives 🌐👥 Over the summer, the Climate Explorers affiliated with the ENTRACK Project conducted ethnographic interviews in various rural pilot areas. The insights gained are now driving the project towards more community-focused initiatives, crucial for integrating local perspectives into our broader strategy. 🏙️📈 Future Directions: City-Level Modeling and Enhanced Communication 📈 Looking ahead, the consortium focused on city-level modeling and boosting the communication and dissemination strategies. In a recent VNCI interview, Jorn van der Meer and Marco Waas shared insights into Nobian’s Further Together program, part of our broader Grow Greener Together initiative. This program empowers our employees to support local projects that enhance sustainability, education, and social cohesion. Jorn van der Meer, responsible for Communication and Public Affairs, emphasizes the collaborative spirit of our mission: “Grow Greener Together is the core philosophy behind what we do. We want to grow as a company, but we want to do it sustainably. It’s beautiful to see this slogan resonate internally. It’s in our company’s DNA to seek partnerships.” Marco Waas, Chief Technology and Sustainability Officer, highlights the importance of local engagement: “The direct connection between a company and its surroundings used to be much stronger. By engaging in dialogue, we understand what people think and why they might not feel comfortable with our presence. You must first understand to be understood.” Through Further Together, our employees are actively involved in their communities, from supporting local sports clubs to participating in educational initiatives. The ENTRACK Project is now moving from the theoretical - conceptualising phase to the more practical one. There were plenty of open loops that had to be discussed to agree on their closure and to plan the next activities. There were presentations on closed activities, presentations of the coming ones and brainstorming for the future ones and I believe we did a great job (but I might not be very objective). Thanks to João Pedro Gouveia an the team at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and CENSE - Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research, we closed the #taxonomy of #socialenergypolicies in a #multigovernance level, from #European policies to #local policies. Thanks to Kilowatt we closed the #ethnography looking into understanding and perceptions of citizens of policies and their implementation. Thanks to the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy Foundation (IEECP) we analysed the needs and perceptions of local stakeholders. We now have a solid knowledge and understanding of the needs and dynamics. Thanks to Rete Assist we will now attempt to carry out a #2stepselfassessment of the policies, initially guiding the #municipalities to selfassess their policies and then comparing the results of their perception with that of the citizens (as outcome of the ethnography). Thanks to #CCR we will build the #training needed to address the knowledge and capacity gaps of the policy levels (as identified in the 2stepselfassessment). Once closed also these 2 next activities we will have the full picture of needs of citizens, we will have empowered citizens and policy staff, we will have pinpointed the policy gaps and we will be able to start the #codesign of #socialenergyplans. Ambitious plans but with such a great consortium we will manage and I am really looking forward to all the next steps.
