Here’s a whimsical thought to keep in mind when forming a multi-functional team for a project. Think about Bacon and Eggs. When making bacon & eggs note that the pig is committed and the chicken is involved. Get as many pigs as you can on your team.

I learned today that something as small as buying pizza for lunch for your employees can means more than you realize. On a side note, some employees may also find this as so much a small act that it is almost disrespectful. It all comes down to perspective and knowing your team. What did you learn today? I would actually like to know.

https://lnkd.in/d_6FeXkS The Ingredients of a Successful Team In a team, each member brings unique qualities and strengths that contribute to the overall success, much like different ingredients in cooking. Here's a small note using the example of cooking a vegetable dish: 1. **Salt**: Essential and reliable, salt represents the dependable team member who consistently delivers quality work and ensures everything runs smoothly. 2. **Sugar**: Adding sweetness, sugar symbolizes the team member who brings positivity, motivation, and keeps morale high. 3. **Rai (Mustard Seeds)**: Though small, mustard seeds have a strong impact, much like the innovative and creative member whose ideas may be small but are powerful and transformative. 4. **Butter**: Rich and versatile, butter represents the adaptable team member who can take on multiple roles and excel in various tasks, adding richness to the team's capabilities. 5. **Haldi Powder (Turmeric)**: Known for its health benefits and vibrant color, haldi represents the team member who brings energy, healing, and resilience to the team, ensuring it stays strong and vibrant. Each ingredient, like each team member, plays a crucial role in achieving the perfect balance and success of the team.

Did anyone ever notice that a mille-feuille is a perfect parable for a professional team? No? Just me? Ok. 😁 You've got the crusty dough layers, which are those coworkers that come off a bit harsh at first glance, but get softer once they become comfortably integrated parts of the team. You've got the soft, creamy layer, which is the gentle professional who always knows just what to say to soften his crusty colleagues. You've got the crumble which at first glance seems broken into pieces, but always manages to contribute something important to the team (and to the dessert). And of course, you've got the coulis which has a really strong taste that has the potential to overpower the dessert, but ends up bringing it all together. This is the leader who strikes just the right balance between control and delegation, enabling each person on his team to work individually while presenting a united front. The beauty of a great team is not in its uniformity, but in its diversity. Everyone can contribute something different, and with professional respect, understanding, and cohesiveness, the end product will be fabulous.

HOW TO BUILD A GREAT TEAM LIKE AN EXPERT BAKER . . . A great team does not happen overnight. It is like the process of baking a winning cake. You start with carefully picking and gathering all the right ingredients—people from various backgrounds with the relevant experience, expertise, and temperament, to name a few. Then, you lovingly and patiently knead the ingredients together. The team gradually develops to be what you want it to be where: a. Each team member is empowered and encouraged to think as a cohesive unit. b. Environment is healthy and positive with constructive feedback and mutual support, and the whole is greater than the sum of its part. c. Mutual recognition of efforts and successes are celebrated. The ability for a group of people to do remarkable things hinges on how well those people can pull together as a team.” And what is a team? Sinek suggests, “A team is not a group of people that work together. A team is a group of people that trust each other.” So, the “secret” ingredient to building a great team is trust. As we work together, due to our differences, there will inevitably be tensions and conflicts. But if there’s trust, people will learn to work through issues and overcome challenges together. How have you seen teams achieve great things together because of mutual trust? How are you building trust in your team? Today we welcomed a new team member 👏 What you see: people gathering, eating cookies 🍪 and drinking milk 🥛 (cookies in the cafe, obviously) and engaged with each other. What you don't see: the game that we were playing, which was hilarious, insightful and encouraging. Every time someone new joins our team, Drew Harden makes up a game. You never know what it's going to be, but you do know a few things for sure: 1. It will be hilarious & fun 2. It will be super random 3. It will shed light on our culture 4. It will help the new employee see a little of each person's personality 5. It will be something everyone looks forward to happening again and is glad we did it Today's game: 1. Say the name and the job of the person on your left (department, general job area) 2. If they (the person to your left) had a stand at the farmer's market, what would it be? Can you guess what David Wanat said mine would be? Comment your answers below 👇
