I successfully replicated the study on motion prediction for beating heart surgery using GRUs, demonstrating that the T-GRU model is more stable than originally reported and that spatio-temporal features might be relevant when using in vivo datasets. Robotic surgery provides a lower overall postoperative complications rate than laparoscopy, however this comes at the expense of operative time. Check our recent publication, the first systematic review and meta-analysis comparing Robotic versus laparoscopy for IBD resection with subgroup analysis for ileocecal, sub-total colectomy and IPAA.
