When I read the news few days ago that Airbus C295 has achieved a remarkable 300 orders, it was heartwarming. Not just for the milestone achievement, this remarkable figure also celebrates the success of the Spanish and European aerospace industry as a whole. The C295 is designed and assembled in my home country Spain, its versatility, cost-effectiveness, and unparalleled reliability has undoubtedly catapulted its global success story. With 41 operators from 37 countries, the C295 is the indisputable leader across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Among them, India stands as the largest customer, ordering 56 aircrafts. The best part? 19 of these operators have placed repeat orders, which demonstrates the aircraft's exceptional performance and reliability. C295 is the outcome of Construcciones Aeronáuticas (C.A.S.A.)’s vision, when they decided to develop a slightly larger aircraft with 50 percent more capabilities. The Spanish Air and Space Force were its maiden customer in 1997. Since then, it has continued to fly high, reshaping the aviation landscape. Indeed, C295 is a symbol of perseverance and excellence. A symbol of our Industry. This week celebrating the Aerospace & Defense Meetings (ADM) congress in Sevilla. Cheers to @Airbus C295 and the countless adventures that lie ahead! #Airbus #Aviation

Tristan Dale, 𝗔𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦’𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻, 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗗𝗦 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸: “The World Defense Show certainly lived up to its name – a remarkable showcase of international defence cooperation, featuring a truly global mix of companies and militaries, and a rich diversity of sovereign capabilities., WDS made for a positive experience, enabling meaningful interactions with new organisations and individuals outside of UK/European networks. “AERALIS was a main feature of the Barzan Holdings complex, and our display of scale modular aircraft drew significant attention. The flexibility of the combination of our Core Fuselage design, coupled with Digital Enterprise and Open System Avionics (AERSYSTEM™) and our on-demand Flexible Aircraft As A Service (AERFLEX™) business model resonated well with audiences who clearly shared concerns about the affordability of essential future air force capabilities. Interestingly, questions focused on the degree to which customers could tailor and modify the AERALIS system – to their preference of sovereign mission systems and engines for instance. The way in which our digital design and open system avionics can accommodate such flexibility very much impressed. “Once visitors understood the AERALIS concept, I was surprised at the sense of relief I could perceive in them; that future defence aviation could and can be affordable, capable and flexible. It made them impatient for our first flight!” #wds2024 #defence

Brazilian defence prime Embraer signed an MoU with the Austrian Industrial Cooperation & Aviation Technology (AICAT) on 18 April in an attempt to enhance international cooperation in the aerospace sector. The two parties will explore opportunities for joint research and technology development and will determine how Austrian industry can contribute to the supply chain of Embraer’s aircraft programmes. According to Reinhard Marak, CEO of AICAT, “an intensified cooperation with Embraer is a great opportunity and will help both Embraer and the Austrian aeronautical sector, creating a more structured collaboration for their mutual benefit.” This cooperation will add to Embraer’s existing relationships in Austria. The two counties entered into bilateral cooperation activities and joint research projects in 2019. In September 2023, Austria selected Embraer’s C-390 airlift to replace its C-130K Hercules. Vice President - Head of Manufacturing, Automotive, Life Sciences, Telco, Media and Travel & Transport at Capgemini
In today's Aerospace and Defence (A&D) industry, sustainability is one of the most critical challenges that must be addressed. This year's Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) provided an excellent platform to discuss the approaches the industry can take to address this. At the event, our A&D Leader, Lee Annecchino, moderated a session about "Achieving Net Zero", and other industry experts discussed topics such as "Decarbonising Civil Aviation" and "Solar Airships". These sessions provided us with valuable food for thought about the role of technological innovation in shaping the future of sustainable travel. To turn this vision into reality, all industry players must embrace the circular economy and implement clear strategies for driving sustainability across the entire A&D ecosystem: from product design and SAF to creating greener supply chains and extending the lifecycle of aircraft components. Watch this video to find out more about the topics we discussed at FIA: #Sustainability #Aerospace #Defence #FIA

Where does the inspiration for the future of aviation greatness come from? It comes from entities like Boom Supersonic, Archer, Joby Aviation, Wisk, Gulfstream Aerospace, BOMBARDIER, and Embraer. They strive to meet every milestone and break every record. But what happens when they don't get the desired result? Fortunately, their leaders are knowledgeable about the shoulders they stand on. They understand that every X-15 test flight, Kelly Johnson experimental aircraft test, and Chuck Yeager record attempt didn’t go as planned. They know that persistence is key. We are here today because they didn’t give up. They learned what they could from each and every try. The National Aeronautic Association has been a part of aviation greatness since 1905. We are the record keepers and the holders of the recognitions that the greatest in aviation continue to seek. Join us and be a part of aviation's past and future.
