#greenPORT 🍃 Together towards decarbonisation: The two municipal companies Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) Anstalt öffentlichen Rechts and Hamburger Energiewerke GmbH (HEnW) are setting up a joint venture to drive forward the #decarbonisation of the Port of Hamburg. Renewable energies such as photovoltaics and wind power are to be further expanded in the port area and renewable energy solutions are to be developed. The new company "Erneuerbare Hafenenergie Hamburg GmbH" will be managed as an equal partnership in which the two companies complement each other's expertise and capabilities! 🗨 Dr Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Economics and Innovation, is happy about this step: "The Port of Hamburg is an international logistics hub and an important industrial area. In addition to the production, processing and handling of goods, the port also contributes to the energy supply - and in future, its own needs will increasingly be met by generating energy on port land. In particular, the additional use of previously unused areas - such as the roofs of halls and warehouses or peripheral areas - offers the opportunity to make an important contribution to decarbonisation." An important aspect of GRITH - Interreg NSR is engagement and close collaboration with local and regional stakeholders. Our colleagues from the Vejle Kommune, for example, are committed to forging alliances with businesses with a view to creating #energycommunities. They have been working on this intensively with #industrialsites in Give, Vejle Havn, Vejle N and Vejle S, aiming to establish local energy communities. Through facilitation, support and third-party energy counselling, #renewablesolutions for each community are being investigated based on #energyconsumption, #energyscreenings and the assessment of #technicalopportunities. #Afkopling2030 Jens Jørn Josefsen Maibrit Lajgaard Pedersen Elektro-Isola, JEVI A/S, Unibolt A/S Centrum Pæle A/S Christina Holmbjørn NIRAS International Consulting Take a look 👇 👇 👇 https://lnkd.in/enakFD-5

💬 A few weeks ago, the ACCE project joined the European Investor Dialogue on Energy! Our development manager Stanislas d'Herbemont joined conversation, presentied key insights and recommendations for financing energy communities. Building on these insights, REScoop.eu formulates several key recommendations for financing energy communities across Europe: 1. Create dedicated tools and support programs. 2. Leverage energy community networks 3. Energy community projects need to be considered in a holistic approach of the investment rather than its pure financial performance 4. Create local partnerships and clarify expectations 🌱 Check out the blog post ! https://bit.ly/3UCbVac REScoop.eu Energie Samen Zelena energetska zadruga (ZEZ) GoiEner Bündnis Bürgerenergie Énergie Partagée Cooperativa de Energie Burgercoöperatie Ecopower

Zero Emissions Vehicle Solutions - ZEV Integrations, Strategy | Simulation | Training, ex-Tesla, ex-Aston Martin, ex-CAT, 28 Years in Automotive
I like this piece from Jack Kotlyar. It does pose the question of equity in this journey. Typically energy providers consider the equity offered to residential customers (like the disabled or disadvantaged) but here we are talking about business large and small. Should electricity connection upgrades for EVs be a first come first served situation? Should DNSPs find a better way? Should DNSPs be made to be more transparent and proactive? I’m a yes to this one. What are your thoughts?

ePAPHOS ADVISORS AT EERA POLICY CONFERENCE ABOUT Driving EU Competitiveness through Low-Carbon Energy Research & Innovation. A crucial aspect of the success of the European Green Deal lies in effectively executing the Clean Energy Transition (CET), a process entailing a comprehensive transformation of the energy system to realise a fair, environmentally sustainable, competitive, and climate-neutral society by 2050. The EERA community firmly believes that energy research and innovation (R&I) is essential for simultaneously advancing all aforementioned CET aspects. However, R&I is often overlooked as a key factor in boosting competitiveness.

It’s clear there are opportunities and challenges ahead as our regions transition to a decarbonised future, including the need for renewable energy infrastructure. Coordinator-General Gerard Coggan was in Mackay yesterday at the 2024 Greater Whitsunday Regional Projects Forum discussing how the OCG is supporting this transition through key projects within State Development Areas (SDA’s) at Mackay and Abbott Point. SDA’s provide a unique opportunity to diversify industrial development, unlock investment opportunities, and deliver huge economic benefits by creating local jobs and new export and procurement opportunities. These two SDA’s will play a key role in realising the Greater Whitsunday region’s potential to become a global leader in emerging industries. 📸 Tim Lewis and Adrian Miles

🚢🇫🇷 Exciting News from BrestPort! Europe wants to install more than 150 GW of offshore wind by 2030 – from the 30 GW we have today – but this won’t be possible without upscaling ports. In France, Région Bretagne gave the green light for a groundbreaking 40-year concession agreement with SPBB Brest Port Authority. This is an ambitious investment plan of €900m, with an initial injection of €500m over 10 years. Brest Port is set to become an entrepreneurial hub, diversifying into offshore renewable energies and fostering public-private partnerships. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, the port aims to: 🔹 Expand traditional activities 🔹 Develop offshore renewable energies 🔹 Strengthen multimodal logistics platforms 🔹 Modernise ship repair facilities 🔹 Enhance energy services Read more about the Port of Brest 👉 https://lnkd.in/eVp-CNyN 📷 G.
