Replacing yourself at work is crucial to success (not just for the business but also yourself ) To me, it’s called being self-aware, self-love, accepting the evolution of one’s purpose and role in the workplace —/ and these sort of VALUES - self awareness and confidence is one of the best hacks for personal and professional growth. It’s also called work life balance :) I was 27 in the ad/pr industry when I said, “there’s an age limit to this - I must evolve and pass the baton - and you know? my job doesn’t define me - but how I pay it forward and boaster others up INTO MY ROLE will be what defines me!” So I purposely put others before me and gave them opportunities and accolades before mine. Take note on what he’s saying here: “the identity, personality, and values of the leader or leadership are key to the culture.“ ASK YOURSELF TODAY: “what am I doing this for and for whom?” I’ll tell ya, you can’t take the paycheck, power, title, control with you to your death bed but you can take pride in setting people up to replace you - that’s the biggest self accomplishment only the very few understand. #leadership #worklifebalance #mentalhealthtips

On Friday, 01 March 2024 I would be CEO for 5 years. I have sat to reflect on my journey as the CEO of Central Media Group over the past five years, I am filled with a mix of emotions. It was on 01 March 2019 that I was promoted to this position, and since then, we have collectively weathered various storms and celebrated numerous successes together. The past five years have been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for me and us at Central Media Group. We have witnessed significant changes in leadership, undergone restructuring processes, and made tough decisions such as the closure of Redstar and staff retrenchments. These challenges were further compounded by the prevailing economic uncertainty in South Africa, which added another layer of complexity to our journey and added anxiety. Despite the hurdles we faced, I am immensely proud of how we, as a team, navigated through these rough waters. We stood strong in the face of adversity, showed resilience in times of uncertainty, and demonstrated unwavering commitment to our goals and value #BePresent. Together, we have proven that we are capable of overcoming any obstacles that come our way. During this period, we also welcomed new talent into our organisation - fresh blood that injected new ideas and perspectives into our work. While some of these endeavors may not have yielded the expected results, the spirit of innovation and experimentation that drove us forward remains one of our greatest strengths. Fail Fast and learn.
