Day by day, AI is being integrated more and more into every industry 🤖 Lack of Transparency, embedded biases, accountability, and security threats are all issues that have to be addressed sooner or later … This is where #AIregulation comes in, with each initiative differing in perspective. On a european level, the EU’s AI Act is presented as a comprehensive regulatory framework that categorizes AI systems based on risk, emphasizes human oversight and “controls” on these issues; the UK adopts a pro-innovation approach, focusing on principles rather than statutory legislation, and aims to balance innovation with safety while collaborating with international partners on AI regulation. According to BSI's Trust in AI poll, nearly one in five people globally felt AI should be used to help ensure transparency in supply chains and help to eradicate modern slavery. The sheer scale and complexity of the global supply chain means that processing all its data at speed and scale is a task arguably beyond the realms of human capacity. That means, from carriers to factories and manufacturers and vice versa, there’s a huge opportunity for industry to utilize AI to accelerate and improve supply chain operations. AI safety is no longer a backstage act. Biden's administration is painting it centre stage. The Biden administration is taking an important step towards safeguarding the security and dependability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. As part of this groundbreaking effort, major AI system developers will soon be obligated to divulge their safety test findings to the US government. This momentous decision comes after President Biden signed an executive order three months ago, which focuses on effectively managing the rapidly evolving AI landscape. The order emphasises the need for transparency and safety in AI development, reflecting the administration's commitment to protecting public interests in the face of technological advancements. The Biden administration is also exploring legislative measures and international collaborations to create a comprehensive framework for AI governance.
