Give people a CHANCE! Should people hire based on passion over experience? For me, it's Passion Over Experience- Passion is essential in every employee. Passion is essential in every employee. Understanding the core requirements of a position and how the candidate satisfies those requirements is important. I believe, people in my organization to care about their jobs and feel passionately about meeting the goals and objective of their positions. When a candidate communicates effectively about their ability and interest in a position, there is a greater possibility of a long term relationship between the employer and employee. I look at this post and some comments. And I believe many people commented on bad faith. I do believe before following the wave and spit on the post with your comments, It would be good to at least do a little research about: -the institution itself (is it a non-profit or a for-profit). If a non-profit, -it is grant funded or relied on fundraising? -how does their financial projection look like (previous tax report-can be found here: guidestar.org or irs.gov) -headcounts And so on… from there you could make a solid case and comment. Also, many people out there are looking for higher level title in their resumé to step up in their careers. That might be the best job for them. Please, as most of the bad comments are from recruiters, I do believe you could just reach out to the person who made the post and ask questions. Also, many of you here are not even replying to your email to support people on job search if not getting paid, please do better. Stop being hypocritical.

After reading netizen's comments about both HR Practitioners and job-hunters, it can be regarded as"Bias","Naive" "Negative"and"One-Sided Report" !! As an experienced career councilor for decades, the question of age is a relative one-usually relative to the level of post sought. Hence an individual who is 45 or 50 years of age may NOT be considered as too OLD for a post as vice president. IT would take 25 to 30 years to earn sufficient experience to qualify for such a post. Similarly, candidates who are 35 to 45 years of age may be acceptable applicants for a director-level post for similar reasons. By contrast, however, a 25-year-old person may well be preferable to a 45-year-old individual for a post as a human resources officer, a post that may require only three or four years of experience. Many companies might questions the motivation and drive of a 45-year-old officer who had only reached the level of officer after 20+ years of experience. Therefore, if you are an older job seekers and have not attained a reasonable level of post for your peer group, you should try to disguise your age on the employment resume. To be continued. Hiring an HR VP - Hi Liz, what should I look for when I’m hiring an HR VP? Look for someone smart and ethical who will tell you the truth when you don’t want to hear it. - OK, how do I test for that? Test for it? Have a conversation with them. - We use a lot of assessments, and I wondered if you had a favorite assessment for that characteristic. Assessments are awful and have nothing to do with recruiting in 2024. Any HR VP canddate who agrees to take a test is the wrong person. You’re looking for a trusted advisor, not an underling.
