Living by the sea has been truly inspirational for me. Spending hours on the water rowing, sailing, and walking along the coastline has been a source of joy and motivation. Recently, starting the October Dip a day challenge has shed light on the state of our waters. It's clear that action is needed from all of us now more than ever. We all have the power to make a difference. Whether it's through donations, picking up and clearing away garbage, or being mindful of what we put down our drains, each small action contributes to a cleaner environment. This is a call to action - let's all do something to protect our waters. Together, we can create a positive impact. #EnvironmentalAction #ProtectOurWaters

Hands down, my favourite day of the WHOLE YEAR is the one where we sit together as a team and select charities to support. This year, we are proud to support six UK-based charities working to support and restore ecosystems and habitats. Our 1% for the Planet pledge means that we have committed to giving a minimum of 1% of revenue (not profits!) every year to environmental causes around the world. In a world where "doing the right thing" is often considered too inconvenient or too expensive, this is one way that we can give back. Supporting grass-roots charities in this way means so much to the charities, and to us as a company. It's a MUCH better use of money than frittering it away to shareholders or bonuses or corporate away days. What if your company joined ? #giving #environmental #EarthDay
We are proud to support several incredible charities through 1% for the Planet, contributing to positive environmental impact. Join us in supporting organizations like seawilding.org, bumblebeeconservation.org, beavertrust.org, globalgeneration.org.uk, justadrop.org, and healrewilding.org.uk to protect our planet for future generations. Together, let’s make a difference! #earthday2024 #1percentfortheplanet #environmentalimpact #charitysupport #earthday

Can you help? Just seven days during which we can double your donation. We're raising money to support our citizen scientists. From riverfly surveying to outfall safari we want to empower people to care for their local stretch of the River Aire. https://lnkd.in/eBuYDP_i Our rivers tell a story. By surveying the bugs found within them each month our volunteers help stop polluters. Sewage and industrial spills shouldn't be harming our rivers but it takes evidence to make them stop. By training riverfly monitors we can press the Environment Agency and polluters to make a change. Just £50 will train a pollution spotter to walk their local beck. £200 will equip a pair of riverfly monitors to monitor a vulnerable stretch of river month after month. Every donation you make between 18-25 April will be matched by the Big Give. One donation, twice the impact. #BigGive #BigGive2024 #doubleyourdonation #doubleyourimpact

Every 37 seconds, a child dies from a water-related illness. World Water Day 2024 - 22nd March: The Fight for Clean Water Nearly 1 in 10 people lack access to safe water - over 770 million people are faced with contaminated water that spreads disease. When I first came across charity: water's work a few weeks ago I was mind-blown that the figures above are still this high in 2024. Despite the Charity's incredible work in recent decades, providing over 11 million people with clean water across 28 countries, there's still a long way to go! Charity: Water is unlike almost any other. 100% of public donations go towards building sustainable water projects in areas of the greatest need - as all the charity's overheads are privately funded by businesses and entrepreneurs. Another great initiative they have adopted is physically showing how and where your donation is making a difference - providing you with a geographical tag to the exact water project you have supported! Not only is this a phenomenal cause, but they've redefined what charitable giving should be all about - making it easy for people to support and giving them the value back by showing them how you've made a difference. The impact these projects have is immense: 🚰 For every £0.79 invested, there's a £3.15-£9.47 economic return. 💊 Safe water leads to 65% less diarrheal disease. 🏫 Children with water at home are 13% more likely to attend school. This World Water Day, I'm supporting Charity: Water because clean water can not only change a life, but save it to.

Happy International Day of Charity! Today, we honour the remarkable contributions of charities and nonprofits that make our communities stronger and more resilient. Their tireless efforts touch lives in countless ways, from offering hope and healing to building a brighter future for all. Here’s how some charities are making a difference: 🏠 Building Strong Foundations: Charities like Habitat for Humanity Canada are empowering families by providing them with safe, stable homes. A place to call their own opens doors to endless opportunities. 🌱 Guardians of Our Planet: Environmental organizations like WWF-Canada are on the frontlines of conservation, ensuring our natural world thrives for generations to come. 🤗 Strengthening Communities: Local charities like United Way Centraide Canada create bonds that bring people together, nurturing a sense of unity and support across neighbourhoods. ❤️ Transforming Lives: Charities like Casey House provide critical care and compassion, changing lives one healing step at a time. Today, let's take a moment to recognize these inspiring efforts and consider how we can contribute—be it through time, donations, or advocacy. Together, we can amplify the impact and make a lasting difference. #NationalCharityDay #SupportNonprofits #CommunityFirst
