📣 Did you hear the news? 26.1% of the ocean has now been mapped! The latest figure is a testament to the efforts of the international maritime community and our valued partners, as well as significant advances in seafloor mapping technology. 📈 Now, as we look ahead to 2030, we need the collective support of all stakeholders, from marine scientists and researchers to individuals with a love for the ocean. We’re as committed as ever to making ocean data free and publicly available. We invite you to submit bathymetric data new and old as we spearhead efforts to create a global map of the entire seafloor. What are the chances of getting the Dordrecht Basin mapped? It is approximately 1200km West of Perth.

If land makes up for just 30% and ocean is 70% 26.1% of 70% is 37% in 100%.Meaning there’s more of the sea beating mapped than the land which is amazing and interesting.

Congratulations on 26%! Completion by 2030 is achievable! Westlake Consultants, Inc. is very excited about #Seabed2030. While we don't map directly, we're very proud of the small role we play in marine research.
