Stop by and say 👋 to Seaweed City this #CityofWaterDay (July 13) on Governors Island. We'll have a live demo on how to make alginate bioplastics with the amazing Emily Gordin, a seaweed touch tank, and more!
Earlier this year, we announced an exciting group of start-ups and nonprofits would be piloting climate tech projects on Governors Island this summer. Many of these projects have hit the ground running, and we’re thrilled to invite you to our #CityofWaterDay CLIMATE PILOTING SUMMER KICKOFF event on July 13 🌎 This free, all-ages event is meant to directly engage New Yorkers with the innovative climate solutions—and the people and communities behind them—being tested right here on Governors Island. From a point-of-use greywater treatment system in the bathrooms at Yankee Pier to live water quality monitoring technology in the waters off of Soissons Landing, there will be plenty on display this weekend! RSVP to this free celebration at https://lnkd.in/ej3aiSJn Featuring: Duro UAS, GrowNYC, OBJECT TERRITORIES, RETI Center + thread collective, Seaweed City, Just EcoCities + Biohabitats, and LÆRO Governors Island Climate programs are made possible with the generous support of Amazon, Con Edison, Donald A.
