People and Workforce Culture Consultant l Career and Life Coach l Helping organisations to create a great place to work l Supporting people to live the life they want
🌟 Celebrating Charities 🌟 Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know more about two local charities. To say I’ve been inspired by what they do is an understatement! ************** Every day, charities around the world work tirelessly to address social issues, support vulnerable people and do what they can to bring about positive change. These organisations whether international, national or local are often the backbone of any compassionate society. Yet, despite their invaluable contributions, many charities struggle to secure the funding they need to continue their vital work; with many of them needing to raise all the funds themselves. Their dedication is nothing short of heroic, but the path they walk is often fraught with challenges, particularly when it comes to funding. 💔 The Reality of Funding Challenges: Competing Priorities: With so many worthy causes, donations are often spread thin, making it hard for charities to stand out. Economic Fluctuations: Economic downturns and uncertainty can significantly impact donation levels. Limited Awareness: Smaller charities often struggle to reach potential donors and highlight their cause effectively. Grant Dependence: Many charities rely on grants that are highly competitive and can be unpredictable. Despite these obstacles, the unwavering spirit and determination of many of the people that work in these organisations is truly inspiring. Personally, I try to support some charities but if I'm honest that has usually been financially rather than giving up my time. I am though looking at options to give my time too in the future. 🌟 Ways We Can Make a Difference: Financial Donations: Every bit helps and can make a significant impact. Volunteering: Offer your time, skills, and expertise. Spreading the Word: Use your voice to raise awareness about their cause. Corporate Partnerships: Businesses can offer strategic support and resources. I think it is always worth acknowledging the incredible efforts of charities and what they achieve. By joining with them we can help to ensure these vital organisations continue to thrive and make a difference. 👉 How are you already contributing to the success of charities? Share your experiences and ideas in the comments! Give a shout out to any of those that have touched you personally. Chairman, CEO, Director, Non Executive Director, Investor, Advisor, Flexible Working Advocate, Fundraiser
Today I received an email from a previous client letting me know they have established a new charity in the Cancer space and will be looking for fundraising assistance in future. I genuinely wish them well, however do we need more charities and foundations? As someone who works for the NFP world, I am amazed at the duplication of effort, particularly in the administration of such fragmented space. The contradictory point is that the small charities often have a large impact at the grassroots root level. Maybe we need a shared services model that supports small charities and reduces duplication without limiting impact? Any thoughts ? #charities #duplication #consolidation

Fundraising to support cancer patients through treatment with free gifts & wellbeing events - Chief Happiness Officer
How many people does our charity The Lewis Foundation UK support? It is a question we get asked a lot and was covered in the recent podcast episode with All Things Business UK by Ben Thomas As you will have watched our charity has been collaborating with local business Sol Retail showcasing how businesses can donate end of line/excess/unwanted stock to our charity which can be repurposed and sold via our outlet stores, as a mechanism to fund our work to support cancer patients. When your supporting 17 hospitals across the Midlands area and looking at giving away an average of 2000 care packages a month for free, being able to not only provide these packages but the wide variety of choice we offer requires building our financial sustainability. This avenue has been one way we have been able to do just that ❤️ With hospitals around the UK asking for our support, we can only do this with the financial investment to support this. The development of the surplus stock campaign has been one avenue we can really explore that is helping to support our work, build capacity and grow. Thank you All Things Business Northamptonshire for showcasing our work and partnership. If you are a business who wants to find out more how you can get involved with our surplus stock campaign, get in touch - lorraine.lewis@thelewisfoundation.co.uk #charity #sustainability #surplusstock #charityretail #cancer

Whether you have an official AGM for charity giving or a good social rep who organises charity collection pots – we would love you to consider us as your next Charity of the Year, or at your next event, no matter how small. Like many charities, we rely on individual donations to fund our research, We’re a very small charity and we are ENTIRELY volunteers, who are patients, family, friends, or carers of someone living with NF2. Everyone has lived experience of NF2. What do we do? We increase awareness of NF2 related schwannomatosis (NF2) connect patients for support and offer hope to patients and their families and ultimately to fundraise to develop new treatments or a cure for NF2. Our beneficiaries, in the UK, about 1000 people are affected by NF2 (incl. 330 children). At the present time only 40% of children are diagnosed in childhood. We need to ensure the physical and emotional wellbeing of these children as they grow up without the need for invasive surgeries or treatments that may rob them of their nerve functions one at a time. Or why not hold an event to benefit us, there are lots of ideas that will allow you to raise money for us. Let us know if you can help us in any way, or if you could nominate us to your employer or indeed if you run a business yourself, Or do you want to support someone who works with you who has NF2? We would LOVE to talk to you about how you can help us change the lives of those with NF2 related Schwannomatosis. Please message or email us clare@nf2biosolutions.org or joanne@nf2biosolutions.org Thankyou. #endNF2 #NF2awareness #neurofibromatosistype2 #schwannomatosis #NF2support #nf2 #nf2family #nf2warrior #LetstalkNF2 #nf2charity #nf2cure #nf2treatment #nf2gene #nf2chromosome22 #nf2trials #nf2diagnosis #nf2lifeexpectancy #nf2prognosis #nf2research #nf2ismyteam #nf2awarenessday #nf2journey #StrongerTogetherAgainstNF2

Fancy giving £100 to charity and in return I'll make a very low ROI promo video for you, whilst fighting for my life mid-run? 🏃♂️🦄 💰 Good because that's what's happening here! 1 week since Tom Voller and I started raising for WWF-UK and Children with Cancer UK - A big thank you to everyone who has donated so far and got us to 53% of our £1000 target - Big love ❤️ Biggest donation last week was from the team Talent Journey - And because of that, they get a game changing promo video from yours truly! 🚀 (Let me know if you need to hire more reps to handle all the inbound requests you're about to get!) If you're a recruitment business owner/founder and looking to scale - check out the link in the comments and I recommend dropping Reece Harrod & Hugo Sugden a line Want to be in next week's video and be a legend raising money for charity along the way... course you do! Links in the comments, get donating 💪 Finally - want to work with a recruiter who cares about charity just as much as he cares about your GTM hiring - you know where I am 😎 #Podcastcomingnext
