Novonesis in India embarks on renewable energy journey, a milestone towards achieving net zero.     We are delighted to sign a long-term contract with one of the large Indian conglomerates in the energy sector to set up a 3.1 MW group captive solar project for our Patalganga site in Maharashtra. The project is expected to be completed before end of year 2024 and will generate 6.8 million units of renewable electricity annually which will help reduce 5000 metric tons kg of CO2 annually. This partnership is a pivotal step in Novonesis’ sustainability journey towards achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.     At Novonesis, sustainability is integral to how we work in our own operations and across our value chain. We demonstrate leadership by setting ambitious environmental and social goals for our own operations. As committed, we aim to reduce emissions by 75% from our operations and 35% from our supply chain by 2030 and convert our all-manufacturing sites to 100% renewable sources by 2025, thereby playing a part in shaping a sustainable future.     This partnership is a testament to our shared responsibility of transitioning towards clean and green energy solutions.     #solarenergy #renewables #sustainability #zerocarbon

The Khavda Plant at the park is set to achieve a staggering capacity of 30 GW, making a significant impact on global renewable energy output. 💡 Once fully operational, the park will generate 81 billion units of electricity annually, enough to meet the entire demand of countries like Belgium, Chile, and Switzerland combined! 🌞🌬️ With 26 GW of the total capacity coming from solar energy and the remainder from wind, the park also highlights the strategic utilization of hybrid energy sources. 🛠️ Spearheaded by Gujarat Industries Power Company Limited (GIPCL) as the nodal agency. 📅 The timeline for this visionary project is set, with 50% of the park expected to be operational by December 2024, ramping up to full capacity by December 2026.
