Recently, we adopted a kitten for our daughter Anna 😸 on the second attempt.
It's not so easy to adopt a kitten in Austin. There is quite a competition!
We were searching for kittens on the Austin Animal Center website.
For the first kitten we tried to adopt, there were three families-candidates. And the foster didn't choose us.
After that, we applied for some other kittens and didn't even receive any responses because fosters already had several candidates.
But for one kitten, my husband acted quickly. He was the first to apply and visited the kitten at the foster's the next day. We said yes without waiting. And we successfully adopted a kitten!
We were the first and the fastest and we showed our motivation.
I'm not sure I can draw any parallels with business here, but maybe I can 😄
If you want something (a new job, new clients or other opportunities), you need to monitor for new opportunities, try to be the first to apply and definitely be fast and motivated.
Back to the kitten, we named her Pomni after the main character of a viral YouTube cartoon called The Amazing Digital Circus.
She is very friendly, active and sweet.
Sometimes she even joins my Zoom calls 😄, lies on my shoulder and watches what's happening on the screen.
Disclaimer: it's not so difficult to find a kitten to adopt in Austin; we just had two criteria that complicated our search: a color (white or black and white) and a location (at foster's, not at the adoption center).
