Working together for a greener future. 🌳♻️ It was a day full of insights, when more than 30 representatives of the Green Tech Valley Cluster and the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV Styria and Carinthia) visited AT&S, shared presentations, took line tours through the production facilities and engaged in extensive networking. With 300 companies, the representatives of Green Tech Valley form the #1 hotspot for climate and circular solutions as well as green technology in the southern part of Austria. In a lively exchange about a greener future, Markus Simbürger, Project Manager of Green Tech Valley, held a presentation about "Green Utopia" emphasizing: "Our Green Utopia helps us to visualize and discuss the future ahead of us. If we know what the goal is, we can achieve it faster." Theresa Gruber, Senior Specialist Corporate ESG at AT&S, also took advantage of the exchange with the "climate pioneers": "As Green Tech Valley is investing in the expansion of sustainable technologies in the field of renewable energy and the circular economy, there are many overlaps for an exchange of experiences and best practice sharing," she said. "The activities that AT&S covers under the strategic fields of decarbonization, energy efficiency and safety as well as the circular economy provided the ideal basis for a lively discussion and valuable input from both sides." #ATS #oneATS #sustainability #innovation

Geopost at ChangeNOW Today our Sustainability, Associate Director Caryn-Ann Allen took the floor to discuss decarbonising freight transport. She started off with our Net Zero ambition for 2040, which has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative and how this objective is shifting our focus onto actions that will allow us to reach this goal. From a last mile delivery perspective, Caryn-Ann explained how we’ve already put in place 9,000 low-emission vehicles and aim to have a 100% alternative fleet by 2035. Beyond city centres, she also brought up how we’re diversifying our line haul fleet to electric trucks and making our voice louder with Climate Group / EV100+ to the market and policy makers. A main challenge we face for the line haul rollout is the charging infrastructure. Along with diminishing emissions, Caryn-Ann brought up the importance of innovation, highlighting our carbon budget that drives together financial and non-financial synergies. Our carbon budget allows us to track and assess our progress. We also initiated our carbon calculator that allows our clients to access data on the carbon footprint of their parcels as they move through our network. The session welcomed a large turnout and proved interesting and informative for all. https://lnkd.in/ebAD7HwX „ Our Giga Berlin-Brandenburg team sent me a long list of public facts, so I thought I’d share a few of them. The entire point of @Tesla is to create innovative zero emissions products and accelerate sustainable energy/transport. But in order to do that well, we also focus on creating the most sustainable factories along with a culture to do the right thing in our community. • Giga’s per vehicle production only takes 2.28 m3 of water – 33% less than industry average (3.68 m3). • We recycle up to 100% of our industrial water. • We have over 8 MW of installed solar capacity and source renewable electricity. • Afforestation for Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg’s current site is even faster than construction - 300 hectares of high-quality forest (> 60 % of hardwood) have been planted. • In the nearby area the team has helped ecologically improve 340 hectares of existing forest through underplanting hardwood, making Grünheide, Spreenhagen & Gosen-Neu Zittau forests more diverse and therefore more resilient. • We incentivize a sustainable lifestyle - 45% of our employees commute by public transport. • Our shuttle train has a daily passenger volume of over 3000 and is free of charge. • @TeslaCharging has installed over 500 wall connectors - we think it’s the world’s largest charging park. • More than 12,000 people work at Giga. -1,500 of them were unemployed and another ~700 were long-term unemployed. • We partner with 13 different schools, and we are the biggest apprenticeship employer in Brandenburg. • Grünheide is only to beginning to benefit from Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg – in 2022, the year the factory started production, €6 Million EUR in trade taxes were paid to the municipality. • @staatskanzleibb achieved the highest GDP growth rate of all non-city states in Germany in the first half year 2023 - in large part due to Tesla's direct and indirect economic impact. • The Giga team is supporting a long list of community impact projects through volunteer efforts and partnerships with local youth clubs and associations.“
