Enhancing your skills with certifications not only bolsters your capabilities but also your job prospects. Within the UK, consider undertaking qualifications such as the NVQ or QCF in Health and Social Care, which are solid stepping stones for your career journey. **Experience through Participation**: Seek out volunteering or part-time work to build your practical skill set. This will offer crucial experiences and prepare you for future obstacles. Whether your environment is a community hub or a residential care facility, such practice is pivotal for envisaging your career trajectory. **Industry Connections**: Forge relationships with Care sector professionals. Networking keeps you aware of industry movements, employment opportunities, and prevailing methodologies. Use platforms like LinkedIn to start forming these key relationships, and attend sector-specific events to expand your network. **Define Your Niche**: Establish your preferred niche in the Care domain, whether that's working with the elderly, those with disabilities, or in mental health services. Delving into a specialty can distinguish you and unlock new career paths. Investigate the area you're eager to join and the required qualifications for those roles. **Keep Abreast**: Ensure you're up to date with the latest sector news, regulations, and innovations. Ongoing education is essential for your professional evolution and flexibility. Subscribe to professional publications, follow industry leaders, and join online discussions focused on the Care industry. **Guidance and Insight**: Seek out a mentor who can offer direction and encouragement as you grow in your career. The perspective of an experienced mentor is priceless. A supportive mentor can streamline your journey up the career ladder, assisting you to sidestep common setbacks with ease. Entering the Care profession is an admirable ambition, replete with chances to enhance the lives of others. Keep in mind, each stride you take is a stride towards a significant impact. #CareersInCare #PositiveImpact #HealthAndSocialCare #VetroRecruitment 🌺

Career pathways in Social Housing. Making a difference to the community while building yourself a dynamic career! Here’s a brief overview of a career path: Starting Out: You are likely to start out in an entry-level post such as a Tenancy Support Officer, Housing Assistant, Customer Service Adviser, or Housing Administrator. These roles provide a solid foundation in understanding the housing sector. Gaining Experience: As you gain experience within the role, you will be able to advance to become a Housing Officer, Senior Housing Officer or Team Leader, based on experience and training. This involves taking on more responsibilities and managing larger portfolios of properties dealing directly with tenants and local community. Specialization: You could then specialize in an area of housing, Homelessness or Anti-Social Behaviour. Specialization allows you to focus on specific issues within the housing sector, providing targeted support to those who need it most. Management Roles: Progress into management roles, such as a Housing Manager or Director of Housing Services. These roles involve strategic planning, overseeing housing policies, and managing teams. Remember, every career path is unique - this is just a general guide. I am currently recruiting a variety of roles in Social Housing. Email your updated CV to wendy.temlett@reed.com for a constant update of great new job opportunities - we have exciting new roles coming in daily! #jobsinsocialhousing #socialhousingcareers

We have welcomed on board six new members of staff in the last fortnight. I was interested to know, why they chose SureCare North Leeds out of everywhere else they applied. I know we work in a competitive market and I am always keen to know what we are doing well and where we can improve. So, I asked them for feedback and asked why did they choose SureCare North Leeds? Below are some of the common answers. 1. They felt welcomed right from the first pre screen call. They all mentioned how helpful and polite our recruiter was when they had any questions and felt they were provided with a clear insight into the role they were signing up for. 2. Smooth and organised process. They were informed from the start about the process involved which includes, a pre screen, application, document check, interview and then reference and DBS checks. 3. A mix of online training and classroom based training. Our new employees found this useful. They were able to complete some study alone online before having face to face training in our classroom delivered by our trainers. 4. They loved the idea of gaining a career in health and social care rather than just signing up for a 'job.' They like the idea of on going personal development opportunities and fully funded qualifications. To serve our customers a quality driven service, recruiting the right members of staff is essential. Its even more important for us to look after our staff to show them how much we value their service. Creating quality in any service must be planned, practiced and always kept under development to ensure the best service delivery outcome. #Recruitment #Care #HomeCare #Leeds #Service

When does work become more than work? Some people use work as a distraction. Some as a way to justify their worth. Some just to get paid and nothing more. But, at what point do you realize that a job is so much more than just a job? You are given many opportunities to learn different things whether it is taught by the company or you learn it on your own. The choices you make decide how you will grow as a person and professionally. I have known people who have started out as volunteers as teenagers in a hospital, worked in the kitchen, worked in many different departments and went to school, then became nurses and then doctors. All while working at the same place. Have you ever seen people take advantage of the tools they are given from a job and work their way to the top?
