Innovator of the Year | Making a measurable impact on people, performance and profits in the health & social care sector | Implementing data-informed solutions that reduce the risk of work-related ill health
It's International Nurse's Day and I'm delighted that this year's theme is the 'Economic Power of Care' 🔥 Highlighting the economic and societal benefits from investing in our nurses and our future. Despite being the backbone of healthcare, nursing often faces financial constraints and societal undervaluation. This is exactly how I feel about how In-House Health Limited is viewed when it comes to investment and the societal value we will eventually make. Labelled and judged as part of the saturated and fluffy corporate wellbeing sector. I see people literally switch off when they hear the words employee wellbeing or workplace wellness. But we are not what you think when you think of those that have come before us. I read a post on here the other day that was asking start ups what impact they will have. From the outset my mission, vision and values have been clear. That comes from a lifelong nursing career. We are a health business in the wellbeing sector and that is challenging. As I enter my 23rd year as a nurse, I'll tell you from the bottom up what long-term impact we'll have: Improved health outcomes for individuals, our biggest mission is the prevention of long-term conditions and the workplace is the perfect arena to achieve this. Increased stability and long-term sustainability of businesses. We know that healthier people are more engaged and productive and we provide demonstrable evidence that this improves bottom-line profits. A huge cost saving to the NHS due to reduced illness, need for appointments and long-term treatments. An improved economy. The UK has the worst record ever in it's history for productivity. Long-term sickness absence accounts for 30% of economic inactivity. How we tackle these issues needs to be addressed, and in the right way. I can already see the government getting it wrong. There needs to be a huge cultural and mindset shift in this area. I'm not saying I have all the answers, but I've got a pretty good idea and my solutions identify the root cause of work-related ill-health, which is a great place to start. At In-House Health we believe in a world where prevention is key to maximising potential. For all of society. This International Nurse's Day I'm delighted that the theme is the 'Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care' I'll be doing more to highlight this throughout the year. This nurse can. And she will. I just need reminding of that sometimes 👊🔥 #Internationalnursesday2024 #IND24 #nurse #digitalnurse #healthtech

Happy #NationalNursesWeek! 🥳 We celebrate the resilience and compassion of nurses who have faced immense challenges in recent years. A recent CDC study highlighted the struggles that many nurses are facing, as well as amazing resources for supporting them: https://lnkd.in/eNiS5SJR -Nearly half of health workers reported often feeling burned out in 2022, up from 32% in 2018. -In 2022, almost half of the surveyed health workers planned to look for a new job. -Healthcare workers reported less burnout when they had enough time to complete their work and be productive. These statistics were some of the key motivating factors behind our Productivity Suite, which aims to empower #healthcare workers to feel more confident and efficient at work. By continually investing in nurses' success and well-being, we hope to provide them the support needed to keep making a profound difference, day in and day out. Invest in your employees' growth today: https://lnkd.in/eNK3WqKJ

Interesting read
I always wondered how implementing a four-day workweek would affect workers and their systems. Would pay be cut? Would hours of operation need to change? And what kind of scheduling conflicts would we see? Well, it seems that Mount Sinai found a method that tackles all those issues. With the system they have in place, maybe this could be the beginning of prioritizing the well-being and reducing burnout among healthcare workers
