IDEA Research has just unveiled Grounding DINO 1.5, a set of AI models designed to accurately detect and identify objects in images and videos without specified prior training. The models were trained on a dataset of more than 20 million curated and labeled images, enabling them to reliably detect a diverse range of real-world objects. DINO 1.5 Pro achieved record-breaking accuracy during testing, correctly identifying previously unseen objects up to 55.7% of the time. DINO 1.5 represents a significant advancement towards accurate and efficient AI object detection systems for real-world applications. These systems are poised to enhance various fields, including robotics, self-driving vehicles, automated surveillance, and more, while promising to reduce training time and data requirements.
