Connecting Top Talent with SC’s Largest School District: Recruitment Specialist with a Passion for People
🌟 Celebrating Teachers Every Day! 🌟 As a passionate educator and recruiter for Greenville County Schools, I know firsthand the incredible impact that teachers have on our kids and communities. For 22 years, I had the privilege of being a special education teacher, starting my career in the elementary schools, and later teaching on the middle and high school levels and even in one of our district career centers! Passion for education runs in my family, and I couldn't be prouder of my daughter, Lauren, who is now an art teacher! Recently, her school awarded her with the "Everyday Greatness" award, recognizing her dedication and positive influence on her students. This got me thinking - why not celebrate every teacher every day? Lauren's school had a fantastic idea to foster appreciation. They passed around a bucket, symbolizing how she fills her students' lives with kindness, character, artistic expertise, and a nurturing classroom environment. The third graders were THRILLED to acknowledge how Lauren fills their buckets with #JOY & #KNOWLEDGE! This concept isn't limited to schools alone. Whether you're in education, a corporate office, or working remotely, let's embrace kindness and gratitude. Let's take a moment each day to #uplift and #acknowledge the people we work with. It's amazing how a simple act of recognition can make someone's day! So, whether you're a recruiter searching for talent, a job seeker looking for opportunities, or someone in need of a little pick-me-up, let's join together and #FillEachOthersBucket. Let's spread #positivity, #appreciation, and #support, because TOGETHER, we can make a difference. 🌈🙌✨ If your school or place of employment does something similar, PLEASE SHARE in the comments below, I would ❤️ to know how your place of employment lifts others up and acknowledges their greatness! #TeachersMatter #Appreciation #SpreadPositivity #Gratitude #MakeADifference #Teamwork #Kindness #gcschools #teacherrecruitment

I’m fresh off the heels of an Alaskan adventure and returning to my second month as Public Education Director for Acclivus Inc. Chicago. As I update my resume and profile, I wish words could adequately express the reverence and excitement I feel in this new position. Reverence because of the awesome work Acclivus is doing to prevent violence in communities where my family, friends, colleagues and I live or do business. Reverence because this isn’t “sexy”/photo opp. work or the application of learned textbook information to real-life situations. This is work that understands that in order to positively impact a community, one must first have a genuine connection with the community… current lived experiences within the community… and a natural understanding of the nuances of the community. This can include knowledge of neighbors' relationship history, growing beefs over a girl/boyfriend, severed family ties or run-ins with law enforcement. Reverence because Acclivus looks at violence through a public health lens to provide high-risk communities and residents across Chicago with the appropriate services: street outreach, hospital response, behavioral health, training and technical coaching, workforce development and mentoring; as well as funding support to other community organizations. Reverence because Acclivus understands the importance of second chances. Many of our team (including leadership) were once engaged in street lifestyles that included violence or incarceration; but, they were given a second chance and the opportunity to ascend via higher education and career advancement. Several team members have earned college degrees and certifications, making their role-model relatability even more impactful. Excitement because I get to become a student again and learn about how Acclivus does what it does. Excitement because I get to soak it all in and develop a strategy to educate the public on how/when/where/why to access or support these critical services and invaluable resources. Excitement because I can expand my responsibilities and tap into my on-air aspirations. (Stay tuned for more on the new co-host of “The Acclivus Hour.” 😉) Excitement because – despite the bitterness of previous employment delays or rejections – God has put me in a place where my expertise is not only needed, but warmly welcomed. Excitement because, while timing is everything, His timing is truly the best thing… and, this right here is right on time!
