Women demonstrate over and over again that we are a force for change.  Women consistently prioritize the safety, security, and wellbeing of their families, often with limited resources to achieve their goals. Build Change helps to ensure women's full and equal participation in home improvement, strengthening, and rebuilding. Women homeowners represent over 60% of Build Change’s clients. We shift power to women so they can better protect themselves and their families when faced with earthquakes and extreme weather, grow their assets and home-based businesses, and lead the march toward resilient housing for all. Women are responsible borrowers and fierce stewards of their family’s safety. Women leaders in government, private sector, and civil society are creating change every day in the housing sector, and we are proud to collaborate closely with them.

Women can offer incredibly powerful solutions to the climate crisis. Women (and all people) on the frontlines of climate change know best which solutions are needed, as they're the ones being forced to adapt Climate change isn't a far off idea for women living in vulnerable areas, it's their everyday life. Women are generally more dependent on land and natural resources, which means land degradation and water scarcity is forcing them to work harder and longer to secure resources for their families. However, their unique position also means that women can bring specific knowledge and experience to conversation around climate change. Their voices need to be heard. This #WorldEnvironmentDay, it’s important that we recognise the women’s important role in #ClimateAction, and to call women’s equal participation in leadership and decision-making positions. #GenerationRestoration
