We’re often told to say yes to everything as we start our careers. We want to have as many opportunities to learn and add as much value as possible. The problem is that we keep saying yes and never learn to say no. When you keep saying yes, your plate fills up. Once your plate gets full, there’s no room to add anything to it. Even if something comes up that you’ve dreamed of, we often miss the opportunity because there’s no space on your plate. The goal isn’t to fill up your plate to the brim. The goal should be to leave a little room on your plate. Your plate is whatever you make of it - emotional bandwidth, mental capacity, physical space. Too often we wonder why we haven’t reached that goal or why things just aren’t clicking. Take a look at what’s on your plate. If it’s too full, then nothing can be added. Don’t forget to make space for those good things to happen. 🤔 Agree or disagree? Drop a line in the comments.

Spiritually Driven, Heart-Led, and Systems Focused Career Coach - Helping Ambitious Technology Professionals Discover, Attract, and Receive a Meaningful Career Ranging from $100k to $300k+
I'm curious 🧐 How many of you on LinkedIn would benefit from getting clarity on knowing what your easiest position to attain, so much so that you were settling and selling yourself short? Your stretch position would be what your dream or ideal position would be. I am all about helping others attain their ideal career, however, I believe grounding is important, centering ourselves and seeing reality for what it is is also important. This is the reason why I would like to offer this Fantasy / Reality exercise. The key to getting value from this exercise is contrasting the future and the present. Focusing on negative aspects of the present isn't much fun, contributing to depression and rumination but not necessarily action. Fantasizing about the future is more fun but it is still that fantasizing. Either of these alone leads to mediocre levels of commitment and motivation for realistic and unrealistic goals alike. However, when you contrast the two good things happen. I know all of my recruiter friends and colleagues can agree, that we all see candidates apply to positions and think "What are they thinking applying for this role" Send me a message if you would like to try this out!
