Great week at the Reproductive Health Innovation Summit in Boston! Good to see old friends and catch up on progress—and—good to meet new friends and learn about the exciting projects they are working on. Mark Connell spoke on the Wednesday afternoon panel addressing endometriosis. The moderator, Lyndsey Harper, MD, FACOG, IF (Rosy Wellness), did a great job orchestrating the different voices into an informative session. Shannon Cohn, producer of the endometriosis documentary "Below the Belt" (viewable by searching PBS), provided the patient perspective that drives everything we do. Pioneering entrepreneur, Heather Bowerman (DotLab) spoke to the challenges in diagnosing endo, while Juan Camilo Arjona Ferreira Camilo (Organon) brought perspective from his decades of drug development experience. Mark provided the entrepreneurial take on moving a therapeutic idea into clinical trials at SLBST Pharma. Spoke with great entrepreneurs like Valentina Milanova 🇺🇦 (Daye) and Shelley Amster (3Daughters) who are taking old products (like tampons and IUDs) and reinventing them in game changing ways.

📢 We’re back from Boston after a fantastic 4th convening of the Reproductive Health Innovation Summit! ❄ Not even a snowstorm could stop this community of entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders from coming together with the united goal of driving sector growth across reproductive health! 💡 Over the course of two days, there were panel discussions, presentations, networking, roundtables, and not one, but TWO innovation showcases with live Q&A! Industry experts led the way with their invaluable insights during the discussions, while the networking and intimate sessions were a fantastic way to connect with like-minded peers and forge partnerships. 💥 If I were to summarize the main takeaways from the summit in three words, they would be ACTION, ACCESS, and TECHNOLOGY…In every conversation I was engaged in, there was a collective drive to develop tangible and proactive action points needed to address the most pressing areas in reproductive health. Access was one of the biggest factors to consider as part of this drive towards action. Technology proved to be one of the most exciting opportunity areas to take action to drive access. ❤️ Thank you so much to this amazing industry for getting involved! Ferring Pharmaceuticals EMD Serono, Inc. Organon Premier Research Nixon Peabody LLP Future Fertility Presagen Hello Helio Women's Health Innovation Series #RHIS #reproductivehealth #womenshealth P.S. I had so much fun networking and getting stuck in that I only managed to get in one photo! Must be the sign of a great summit. 😉

🚀 The QLD Government is now offering 10 days of reproductive health care leave to all publicly owned energy companies! This means workers can access essential treatments for endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, vasectomies, IVF, and reproductive cancer screenings. As a woman who battles endometriosis daily, this is a HUGE win for the sector! 🎉 This isn't my usual post, but it's certainly one to celebrate and something I am personally passionate about. This policy enhances the benefits offered by publicly owned corporations. I wonder if any private sector companies will follow suit? This could set a new standard for supporting employees' reproductive health. “Employees will have access to up to 10 days per annum (non-cumulative) paid reproductive health leave to use for the following purposes: -For each parent to receive fertility/IVF treatment; -Chronic reproductive health conditions (such as endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, adenomyosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, and menopause symptoms) that require absence from the workplace; The policy will also provide for flexibility to manage symptoms at work. -Preventative screening associated with reproductive health, including breast and prostate screening (capped at 4 hours per year); -Treatment associated with reproductive health including hysterectomy and vasectomy.” For more information please follow the link ➡ https://lnkd.in/gygmppNY #FairEnergy #HealthierWorkplaces #SupportingWorkers #femaleworks #reproductivehealth
Today we made our energy industry fairer, healthier, and more supportive. We’re extending our nation-leading 10 days of reproductive health care leave to every publicly owned energy company. This allows workers to access treatment for endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, vasectomies, IVF or reproductive cancer screenings. It’s about making the energy industry a better place for everyone.

#ICYMI - Yes, Biotechnology Innovation Organization did put the spotlight on women’s health, with the Growth Opportunities in Women’s Health panel discussion that 3Daughters CEO Mary Beth Cicero participated in at the 2024 BIO International Convention. The panel, moderated by Sheila Ann Mikhail, did a deep dive into the report from the McKinsey Health Institute on women’s health investments, to which fellow panelist Megan Greenfield, Ph.D. contributed. This lively discussion shed light on the challenges and opportunities in women's health, highlighting the crucial need for collective action to address gaps in research, funding, and increasing investor interest. With proper funding, we can drive meaningful change and unlock the full potential of women's health. Let's pave the way for a future where every woman has access to the care and support that she deserves. Shout out to Biotechnology Innovation Organization for their focus and support of women’s healthcare and for uplifting new companies like 3Daughters who are developing innovative technologies. Our thanks and appreciation go to Elizabeth G., Vice President of Membership at BIO, and Derek Scholes, Vice President of Science & Regulatory Affairs at BIO, who were instrumental in encouraging 3Daughters to participate. 🌟 3Daughters is developing a new frameless nonhormonal IUD to address insertion pain that keeps women from adopting one of the most effective forms of birth control. 🌟 #WomensHealth #Innovation #Contraception #BIO2024 Click the link for deep dive into this vital conversation: https://lnkd.in/ePPyEMB8 Read the full report from McKinsey: https://lnkd.in/efiUk-eT

🚀 We released Pinky Promise v2 this week 🚀. This is one of the most unique and challenging things I have built to date. I am very excited to see it go out into the world. In Jan 2023 Pinky Promise launched a basic version of this product covering three of the most commonly occurring reproductive health issues, and in one year we consulted for over 10K patients. Using many lessons from this, in the last two months we have expanded to 97% of all reproductive healthcare issues. Here are some of the big changes and the technologies behind this: 1. 🏥 Using over 250 of the top medical protocols in the world, carefully curated by our medical team, we are fine-tuning top medical LLM algorithms to create a medical decision making system biased towards women. Our patients come on the app and start by describing their symptoms, and within 5-10 mins of starting they have a Doctor-approved prescription in hand. We track Doctor edits and patient cure-rates to feed data back into this system and keep it improving. 2. 👩🏼⚕️ Once the patient receives the prescription, they are connected with their Doctor over chat throughout their care journey. To enable Doctor's to reply in near-realtime, we have built a Chat-GPT based copilot which suggests answers to all the Patient's questions. 3. 📱 We have rebuilt our app on flutter and is now available on Web, Android and iOS. 4. 💬 One of our biggest learnings so far has been that our target market is most comfortable with "chat". This product has been build on top of DialogFlow as a chatbot. Whether they are describing their symptoms or answering questions about their medical history, or booking tests - they can just chat with us. This sets the stage to seamlessly expand setting to provide instant reatime care on any platform (whatsapp / Alexa / sms) and across languages in the future. This is a launchpad for us. We are fast expanding our offerings to provide tools for the larger medical ecosystem and enable are patients to manage their health in an easy and cohesive manner that is anxiety free and proactive. Indian women don't go to Doctor's (including me). This is a huge step towards changing that. A huge huge shoutout to Divya Balaji Kamerkar, Dr. Reema Shah, Feya Shah, Shreeya Sethi, Anam Sajan, the entire Flair Labs team for pulling this off in record time! Do check it out we would love feedback and to chat about this journey! https://lnkd.in/d2juWaRd
