How will BAE Systems’ MARS system enhance communication for the U.S. Army’s rotary-wing fleet? The US Army has awarded BAE Systems a five-year, $460 million contract for the AN/ARC-231/A Multi-mode Aviation Radio Set (MARS). This state-of-the-art system provides secure, mission-critical information to warfighters in challenging environments, enhancing situational awareness and decision-making. The MARS system, designed for rapid programmability and software-defined upgrades, allows for swift adaptation to evolving battlefield needs. Amber Dolan, Director of Adaptive Communications and Sensing at BAE Systems, emphasized the system’s role in delivering scalable communications for tactical missions. With Type 1 Crypto Modernization, the MARS system ensures secure, interoperable communication across U.S. and NATO forces. Production will take place at BAE Systems’ Fort Wayne facility, with engineering support from Largo, Florida. 🤩 MatrixSpace has won a $1.9-million contract to develop a base defense radar for the United States Air Force. The deal stipulates a solution based on the company‘s proprietary MatrixSpace Radar small form factor hardware. “This TACFI project addresses a core requirement in new force protection, which is providing an enhanced level of awareness in complex, challenging environments, quickly,” MatrixSpace Intelligent Systems VP Matthew Kling said. “A distributed radar sensor mesh has the ability to detect and identify previously undetected objects, making it essential for the new world of battlespace awareness. 🚀🛡 🌎 As modern warfare evolves, the strategic use and development of the #Space domain have become paramount in the process of enabling NATO, as #MultiDomain Alliance. This ensures not only advanced defence capabilities, but also a safer global future. Recently, NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) welcomed General Devin Pepper as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Policy. He is the first United States Space Force General Officer to be assigned to NATO. In its mission to enable NATO as a Multi-Domain Alliance, NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) is raising awareness about the importance of the Space domain. It is widely incorporating space considerations, possibilities, and threats into all aspects of Allied strategic warfare development. Additionally, it seeks to enhance engagement and cooperation with space-focused industries and academia. 🚀🙌 Outpost Technologies has signed a $33.2-million agreement to produce and evaluate equipment for the United States Air Force’s Joint Precision Orbital Cargo space vehicle. The package will incorporate a heat shield, payload bus, and paragliding systems that will support the spacecraft’s hypersonic testing and reentry missions. Work for the contract will be facilitated for four years in partnership with the air force’s innovation arm AFWERX. “This AFWERX [Strategic Funding Increase] program will directly contribute to protecting the lives of our military personnel, by delivering supplies and payloads through space,” Outpost CEO and Founder Jason Dunn said. “We eliminate the need for aviators to fly through dangerous airspace with this technology.
