The German Alliance for Global Health Research was launched in 2020 with support from the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) and is set to receive funding into at least 2025. Complementing this support, from 2022-2023, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) provided additional funding to strengthen cooperation with partners in low- and middle-income countries. As this BMZ-funding phase has come to an end, we are thrilled to share the progress and impact achieved through our collaboration. 🎉 🔸A total of 61 project events were held in 8 countries with over 3400 participants, of which 98% are from LMICs. All 8 project teams have documented their results in case studies, which can be found here: https://lnkd.in/dJvvEFhi 🔸The newly launched "Meet our Partners" campaign strengthens the visibility of researchers from LMICs in the network. The strategy paper "Enabling International Collaboration for Global Health Research" sets out recommendations for a vision, goals, and priority measures for the internationalization of GLOHRA Read here: https://lnkd.in/d2AkWnaW 🔸 Regular meetings between the BMBF and BMZ underscored the importance of synergizing funding streams, and has led to fruitful discussions on global health research actions and policy. The collaborative efforts have surpassed targeted aims, demonstrating the strength of global networks and collaboration. These initiatives have not only strengthened research partnerships but have also laid the foundation for sustainable collaboration. We are proud of what has been achieved during this funding phase and looking forward to even more achievements ahead! #GLOHRA #GlobalHealth #Research #ResearchImpact #Collaboration #Partnerships #ResearchCommunity #BMZ #ThankYou

Strategic thinker with a strong career and a demonstrated track record of leadership and accomplishments in global health and international development
What a great session for hearing different perspectives on why doing more to ensure good research evidence is translated into decision-making is essential for impact on health, and one great strategy to go about it! Thanks for joining us and for your great question!
Greatly enjoyed learning about innovative partnerships between researchers, decision-makers, and health policy and research organizations in Africa to facilitate the research to impact/policy pipeline. Grateful to International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and Canadian Institutes of Health Research | Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada for funding these initiatives! #CCGH2024

UZH Vice President Elisabeth Stark looks back at at a successful General Assembly of the Una Europa European university alliance and emphasizes the boost given to One Health: https://lnkd.in/dQSz9Gqg "The alliance enables us to forge close partnerships and collaborations with 10 like-minded universities across Europe. This is very important for us because Switzerland is not a part of the European Union, and we’re currently not an equal partner in the EU’s research programs either," she says. "The theme of the event focused on the idea of togetherness and unity that we’re pursuing in our research and visions together with Una Europa. We all share the same planet, and many of UZH’s research focuses explicitly address this. The theme was of course also a nod to the topic of One Health, which was at the heart of this General Assembly and is one of UZH’s strategic priorities. Last year, for example, we were the first university in Europe to establish a One Health Institute." ➡️ Read more about how Una Europa helps advance projects in the area of One Health and how the alliance promotes interdisciplinary collaboration: https://lnkd.in/dQSz9Gqg #WeAreUnaEuropa #OneHealth #Interdisciplinarity #UZH #universityofzurich

🗣"Una Europa definitely boosts interdisciplinary cooperation between universities, both internally and externally... the six Focus Areas were all deliberately designed to be interdisciplinary and bring together experts from different fields and disciplines from all 11 partner universities." One week on from the Una Europa General Assembly at University of Zurich, the university's representative on our Board of Directors Elisabeth Stark looks back on our time together and, in particular, the interdisciplinary nature of our collaboration, highlighted through the Assembly's theme, 'One Earth, One Future'. Hear from Elisabeth 👇 #WeAreUnaEuropa #UniversityOfTheFuture #interdisciplinary #OneHealth
