NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited Invites Bids for 100 MW ISTS-Connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Projects NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited and a Maharatna company under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) document. What future holds for Off-Shore Wind Energy. At least 10 countries with substantial offshore wind resources and at the frontier of the energy transition are focused on accelerating the growth. These countries include #Japan, #SouthKorea, #India and #Brazil. Last month, the Union Cabinet approved the development of the first 1 GW offshore wind energy projects in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. The total cost of these projects is Rs 7,453 crore. These projects are expected to produce about 3.72 billion units of renewable electricity annually. This will result in an annual reduction of 2.98 million tonnes of CO2 emissions over 25 years. SWREL Announces Major INR 550+ Crore Order for 400 MW AC / 633 MW DC PV Plant in Rajasthan Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL), a prominent player in the domestic renewable energy sector, has announced the acquisition of a significant new contract. The order entails the Engineering, Design, Testing, and Commissioning of a substantial 400 MW AC / 633 MW DC photovoltaic (PV) plant. From Wasteland to Goldmine: How Govt Plans to Turn Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch into Clean Energy Marvel :- 3 years from now, the inhospitable desert in the Rann of Kutch will host the largest operational renewable energy park in the world, almost the size of Singapore with a whopping power generation capacity of 30 GW (gigawatts). India is undertaking the construction of this mammoth hybrid renewable energy project in Gujarat, called the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, at an estimated cost of $2.26 billion. The Union Cabinet has approved a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme with an outlay of ₹7,453 crore for 1 GW offshore wind energy projects in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. This scheme aims to establish India's first offshore wind energy projects, including ₹6,853 crore for the installation of 500 MW projects off the coasts of both states and ₹600 crore for port upgrades. These projects will generate approximately 3.72 billion units of renewable electricity annually, reducing CO2 emissions by 2.98 million tons over 25 years.
