MOIT & GEAPP TECHNICAL WORKSHOP ON BESS 📃💡🔋 🟧 On June 21, #EREA / MOIT and the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (#GEAPP) hosted a technical workshop on integrating battery energy storage systems (#BESS) into Vietnam’s power grid. During the workshop, a report titled Enhancing Vietnam’s Grid Stability with BESS, co-authored by the Institute of Energy (IE) and GEAPP, was launched. 🟧 The workshop centered on available technologies, #financing mechanisms, #policy regulations, and #cost issues related to BESS implementation in power systems. Chile recently announced a modification to ensure 100% priority exists for #energy storage facilities with 5+ hours of duration. This modification introduces changes in the recognition and compensation of energy storage systems across Chile, including hybrid plants with storage capacity. We are happy to see long duration energy storage supported by regulatory mechanisms that provide long-term revenue stability.
