We are now approaching the season of the major #aerospace fairs in #Europe with #EBACE2024, Aircraft Interiors Expo, #BerlinAirShow2024, Farnborough International Airshow, as well as others taking place. While these fairs have focused in the past in the civil segment mostly on Large Commercial Aircraft as well as Business Jets we are now seeing more and more a focus on #AdvancedAirMobility (#AAM). This new segment consists of both #UrbanAirMobility (#UAM) as well as #RegionalAirMobility (#RAM). A lot has been discussed in the past on UAM we have therefore put the focus of our recent work on the #RegionalAirMobility (#RAM) market. In our recent teaser document we will answer the following questions: - How is the RAM market defined? - What use cases exist in this market? - How big is the market today and to what size will it grow in the next years and decades? - What are the different propulsion technologies and concepts? Day 1 of the H2O Home to Overseas Conference in Halifax was a success! It kicked off with insightful presentations and productive networking opportunities. One of the major highlights was the announcement of four new projects from our first-ever international Call for Proposals, created in collaboration with the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK. These projects, with a combined total value of $8 million, exemplify the power of collaboration in project development and problem-solving, showcasing what we can achieve when we work together. The day also featured discussions on Dual-Use Innovation in the defence sector and an insightful session on Artificial Intelligence moderated by our own Jennifer LaPlante. The session focused on innovation, regulatory frameworks, global levels, and the dual-use nature of AI for defence and civilian applications. The conference was a rich tapestry of discussions covering various topics. These included a presentation on the Challenges and Opportunities of Bringing Ocean Climate Tech Solutions to Market, engaging workshops on Ocean Career Paths, a fireside chat about Purpose-Driven Business to Advance Ocean Innovation, and a special session on the New England BlueTech Canadian Accelerator with Commissioner Services. At HALO Space we are proud to announce our sixth test flight in Saudi Arabia for the month of June. A great achievement that makes us the most advanced #nearspace tourism company in the sector. We thank our select group of spanish aerospace companies #CT, #Aciturri, #GMV and #B2Space, who are working diligently with us in the development of the space vehicle. Today marks another significant stride towards realising our goal of launching commercial flights to the #stratosphere starting in 2026. 🔈 Space tourism is here. Starting in 2026, we will offer safe and sustainable commercial flights to near-space. 🎈 The sixth test flight will utilize a full-scale capsule prototype, marking a pivotal moment as it integrates all essential components of the space vehicle, which have been thoroughly tested across the preceding five flights 🏁 By 2029, we plan to have 400 flights per year that will enable 2,400 passengers to travel to the stratosphere. #nearerospace #innovation #sustainability #aerospace

After a long examination of our commercial proposal, 33 members made a unanimous deliberation to welcome OLM as its 34th and newest member of the Distretto AeroSpaziale della Sardegna (DASS), paving the way towards a long and strong collaboration as its first vertical launch & test operator. This will allow OLM to not only play a major role in modelling Sardinia’s ambition to become Europe’s gateway to LEO, but furthermore give our teams the opportunity to become local stakeholders with a brand new dedicated OLM office in Cagliari. A few objectives of this initiative will consist in : — Foster meaningful commercial partnership with fellow members such as AVIO, Leonardo, CIRA - Italian Aerospace Research Centre, RINA and its many local suppliers; — Propose an ambitious and progressive sub-orbital launch calendar based around a set of activities and clients, as well as a set of commercial static tests; — Establish strong collaboration with the Aeronautica Militare’s test & launch ranges for commercial use, exploitation and development, towards a fully-fledged commercial proposal in the Mediterranean; — Continuously work with national authorities such as Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, ENAC - Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile & Stato Maggiore Difesa to act as a regulatory-sandbox player to foster the regulations of tomorrow, from home; — Develop a first set of centralised aerospace-based clusters in key locations to create an efficient logistical path to orbit across the island; — Explore local funding opportunities through the region’s local development programs and initiatives; This is just the first set of a one-year development plan for OLM’s launch & services program, in order to start offering our fleets and their stakeholders the space, the means and the grounds to commercially launch & test with proximity, efficiency and reliability more frequently than before. The FAI is the world governing body for air sports and awards dozens of medals and diplomas annually to recognize accomplishments in the air, especially in the field of sporting aviation. The NAA works to identify worthy candidates and generate nominations for the following FAI Awards: 🥇Gold Air Medal - For those who have contributed greatly to the development of aeronautics by their activities, work, achievements, initiative or devotion to the cause of aviation. 🥇Gold Space Medal - For those who have contributed greatly to the development of astronautics by their activities, work, achievements, initiative or devotion to the cause of space. 👩✈️ Sabiha Gökçen Medal - For the woman who performs the most outstanding achievement in any air sport in the previous year. 🥈Silver Medal - To a person who has occupied high office in FAI or in an aeronautical organization in one of its member countries, and in the discharge of their duties have shown exceptional powers of leadership and influence, to the benefit of the whole international air sport community. 👨🚀 Diploma for Outstanding Airmanship - To a person or a group of persons for a feat of outstanding airmanship in sub-orbital flight during one of the previous two years and which resulted in the saving of life of others and was carried out with that objective. ALL the participants appear to understand the reality of establishing the AAM/UAM industry deep into communities/neighborhoods will be an evolution. The discussions needing to taking place about vertiports can only occur if society embraces, rather than just accepts, the solution. Continue to believe see/touch/hear is best. Converting/retrofitting airports/heliports relatively easy... successfully adding/rewriting land use and zoning, is another battle. OEMs/suppliers would be wise to invest (expense hard money) and expose communities/neighborhoods sooner, rather than later, to an operational showcases (roadshows w immersive exhibits).

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to begin its space tourism industry in the third quarter of 2025, with flights starting at Rs45.5 million (UAE Dh600,000). Spearheaded by European space firm EOS-X Space, the initiative will feature flights from Abu Dhabi and Spain using pressurized capsules lifted by eco-friendly helium balloons. The capsules, nearing completion, will be validated with military pilots and accommodate up to eight people for a five-hour trip to the edge of the stratosphere. Unlike other space tourism experiences, EOS-X Space offers a week-long program including cultural, gastronomic, and wellness experiences. The company aims to attract high-net-worth individuals, with global revenue projections reaching $353 million in the launch year and $1.127 billion by 2029.
