Substantial risk comes with mis- and disinformation. That risk can include bottom lines, reputations, and even lives as it did throughout the COVID19 pandemic. I’m proud of the work my team does to stand up and lead during difficult and dangerous times. #misinformation #disinformation #risk #bottomline #reputation

This can have dire consequences on clinical care. Professor Havi Carel's Discovery Award project is investigating this form of injustice in healthcare. A few months ago, I was a part of a short video series with the Doris Duke Foundation called “When Racial Bias Hides in Plain Sight.” In it, we unpack the impact of race in clinical equations through the perspectives of students, researchers, and patients. To me, one of the most salient examples is the GFR equation. In this clip, I talk about the significance of the GFR equation as well as the importance of moving from a race-based medical system to a race-conscious medical system. #joelbervell #racialbiasinmedicine #chronickidneydisease #gfrequation #healthcareonlinkedin

Often, I’m asked about the purpose of EIT. I can say that: -EIT is a tool for regional lung function assessment. -It provides continuous, real-time feedback on applied ventilation strategies and disease dynamics. -It’s a non-invasive imaging method that can be used bedside. -While it’s easy to use, learning to use it effectively is crucial. It offers valuable insights for ventilated patients, from the pre-intubation phase through to post-intubation." I trust this version is more polished and easy to comprehend. Join our three days course, certified by TIMPEL, to become EIT master!
It is with great pleasure that Timpel Medical has been recognized on the cover of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care. We are proud to be associated with the authors of this key publication on electrical impedance tomography!
