What’s the best way to beat the competition? Be first to the market with fresh ideas 😉 A little while ago I was reminded by a community member of a therapy I developed in 2022 (think home school and private school combined for military and low income families). Community Learning Institute submitted for copyright today 🫡 🇺🇸 🏫 It’s therapeutic because students learn better in smaller groups with more access to the teacher 1:1 It’s designed for holistic education to empower creativity, movement, music, etc 5 ⭐️ quality at 1 ⭐️ pricing. Will I be running my own CLI? Nope 🙅🏻♀️ I’ll be coaching parents and community members how to launch theirs and providing curricula to help them be successful. It’s also a great way to add revenue to local police 👮 to provide securities around the neighborhood through the tuition fees. Average tuition for private schools in the area are thousands per year. The neat thing about CLI is it works with deployments and relocation assignments at drop-in affordable rates. I’m believing we’re days away from announcements of Global Mental Health Ambassador position and I’m confident I’ll be voted in soon. CLI is 1 of 65 alternative group and 1:1 therapies I’ve created so far. This one just happens to be for elementary ages. Today’s Pre-Election Clinic workshop session with Jason Craige Harris began with an invitation to consider that we are all in pursuit of community. Jason shared a powerful quote by Charles Vogel: "I define a community as a group of individuals who share a mutual concern for one another. Community is about care, belonging, and the relationships that sustain us through the challenges of life. It is not just about proximity or shared interests, but about the bonds that form when people are committed to supporting each other." This insight is a profound reminder that community transcends physical spaces or common interests—it’s about the deep connections and relationships that sustain us. As AISNE (Association of Independent Schools in New England) moves through the first week of our 2024-2025 event programming, we are excited to gather 360+ attendees from 95+ schools across New England. Together, we will take time to become more deeply connected, continue to strengthen the bonds that define our AISNE community, and support one another through shared experiences and mutual care. A school administrator called Megan’s Foundation this week & said a judge recommended she call us to present a Healthy Relationship program for their students! Here’s the conversation: Administrator: “We are having a problem with our middle school girls sending nude pictures of themselves to their boyfriends.” I said “That’s so disturbing. Let me try to understand; The girls are just, out of the blue, initiating taking & sending these photos?” Administrator: “No, their boyfriends are convincing & manipulating them to do it.” So my question is this: Why did the administrator say they were having a problem with the GIRLS!!??? Because victim blaming starts early. And the blaming & shaming lasts a lifetime. That’s the WHY MMF exists! To give grants to schools so they can eliminate the shame, blame, & victimization through educating boys & girls on healthy & unhealthy behaviors. To start early BEFORE the harm occurs. I have a passion project that helps student athletes and parents with resources on mental health, alcohol, and drug prevention, educational, and other resources, @NILInsight. I recently had an awesome conversation with the Executive Director of Champions for Literacy, Jason Baker, who leads this amazing non-profit that utilizes the power of sports to impact childhood reading. They partner with sports teams, athletes at all levels, and corporate partners to ensure all kids are inspired to become great readers. Their core principles are founded on: 1. Imagine not being able to read, yet trying to navigate your way through school or life in general!   Without the ability to read, school becomes an unwelcoming place, a place where a child feels inadequate. Children become disengaged and disconnected from school. The vast majority of children engaged in the juvenile legal system and those engaging in gangs and gun violence are functionally illiterate.   Friends of the Children-Chicago (https://lnkd.in/giYaBYmn) is an organization dedicated to supporting the most at risk children on the West and South Side of Chicago. They do this by making a commitment to 12.5years of professional mentoring to support the children in their program and their families.   After baseline assessment last summer, 88% of the K – 5th grade students in the program are two+ grades below reading level. 83% of the 6th graders in the program read at a K – 2nd grade level. These abysmal statistics are not unique to the children in their program.
