Really enjoyed attending the Digital Sport North event about the Rise of The Hundred in Leeds last night 🏏 Some fascinating insight from Joe Steel, Ella Voase and Rob Johnson about how the competion was branded and is now marketed. Really elite level guys to aspire towards. There was so much that so many others sports could learn from it, especially horse racing. Myself and Thomas Ellis came away with a new lease of life and higher standards to try and achieve. Main takeaways: - Content should fall under three strands. Reach, Relevance, Revenue - Don’t do the same thing as last time just because it worked, think how you can make it bigger and better - Use data to inform your decisions so you’re making smart decisions - Keep customers engaged long before the event, don’t just wait for the hype stage - Bring out the personalities - Be digital first - “Our team is our audience”
