I stopped in my tracks when I saw this visual of the enrollment cliff in the San Francisco Chronicle a few weeks ago.
There have been so many schools that are up and down over the past few years and the #FAFSA issues have been quite the challenge.
But, now is the time to get your enrollment marketing house in order.
➡️ You have to have a different mindset heading into 24-25 than you have before.
➡️ You have to focus on #chasingmissionfit students.
➡️ You have to be smart about your #higheredmarketing budgets.
➡️ You have to buckle down and recruit those students.
➡️ You'll need to be creative and think out of the box.
➡️ There is no room for error, especially on big issues like your website.
The dropoff is nearly here.
Time is ticking.

Visual reminder of the need for previously radical solutions like HAXTheWeb to become common practice. We need rapid creation, engaging, fast, accessible material that costs nothing to produce, next to nothing to host, nothing to maintain, nothing to update and fast. HAX remix capabilities empower authors to create, experiment, and recreate resources rapidly for new semesters, noncredit offerings, student submissions via blogs and more.
Scarcity creates a battle for eyeballs and much like Google page speed scores, you'll be competing for eyeballs when it comes to what feels natural, easy to engage with and constantly modern.

📌 I enrolled in a course from EDUCAUSE called 'The Higher Ed Guide for the Corporate Community'. This course helps to understand the Higher Ed landscape and to build meaningful partnerships as a vendor.
I never liked the word vendor or the dynamic of a client-vendor relationship. I always liked the word partnership as it envisions #collaboration and #mutualunderstanding.
Yesterday was the first interactive live session about Organizational Structures and Stakeholders and I ❤️ it!
Some #takeaways and the reason I think #Education is such a fulfilling industry to work in:
▶ Financial Consciousness: In Higher Ed, every dollar spent directly impacts students. Optimizing resources for impactful outcomes should be an intention in a partnership.
▶ Strategic Collaboration: Building relationships is key. Start with awareness, understanding the right time to engage, and fostering that relationship. Even if your product or service is not the right fit for an institution, they will refer you if they think it will be fit for somebody else.
▶ Navigating Procurement Dynamics: Nobody likes to RFP right? 😆 I learned it's OK to be educating the institution with #bestpractices on what works best and who will be the right persons to sit at the table. Again, it's a partnership.
Looking forward to next week's session!

Several states are comprehensively reviewing the models for funding public higher education institutions in order to align funding incentives with state goals, particularly to promote greater student success. This week, NCHEMS President Brian Prescott led a panel on this topic at the SHEEO Annual Meeting in a session titled, “Designing Models to Achieve State Funding Adequacy and Equity.” This panel included Commissioner Ben Boggs of the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development; Principal Martha Snyder of HCM Strategists; and Associate Vice President Dustin Weeden of SHEEO (State Higher Education Executive Officers Association).
The panel featured discussions about Illinois and Missouri's efforts to review and potentially adopt wholesale changes to public funding to institutions. These changes aim to accommodate each institution’s distinct missions as reflected by the programs and students served. We were thrilled to have Prescott lead this panel and dig deeper into this important and timely topic. #HigherEd#funding#publicfunding
