We are proud to congratulate Qaptis, one of our portfolio companies, for securing a top 20 spot in the prestigious Top 100 Swiss Startup Award 2024! 🎉 From the article: "Newcomers secure top positions - This year, 40 startups were listed in the Top 100 Awards for the first time, with two cleantechs in the top 20. Voltiris, which develops photovoltaic modules specifically designed for glass greenhouses, scored the 6th position. The startup has so far put almost 500 of these modules into operation at 14 greenhouses in five countries and contracts for 3,000 more have been signed. Qaptis assumed the 20th spot. Founded in 2021 as an EPFL spinoff, the startup developed carbon capture technology to reduce CO2 emissions from heavy-duty vehicles and industrial applications." The representatives of the startups that make up Batch 7 of our Circular Economy Accelerator program are here! We're excited to spend the next two months working with so many passionate people from literally all over the world - more specifically, from six of the seven continents! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that i-Foria Italia, a pioneering startup in the circular economy sector, has completed its first capital increase of €1.7 million. The transaction is led by Tech4Planet – the National Technology Transfer Hub for Environmental Sustainability promoted by CDP Venture Capital, and by MITO Technology Ventures – venture capital fund art. 9 SFDR launched by MITO Technology. The investment round concluded by Tech4Planet and Mito Ventures will be used for the validation of the technology and the construction of the first plants in Italy on an industrial scale. 💫 i-Foria Italia is the innovative startup that has developed and patented a revolutionary technology that will lead to the recycling of 100% of waste deriving from absorbent hygiene products (AHP), such as diapers and similar products, transforming them into Secondary Raw Materials (absorbent material and plastic) that can be reintegrated into new production cycles, thus contributing significantly to the creation of a true circular economy. Not only does the process meet the most stringent safety criteria, but it also offers a concrete solution to reduce the huge amount of used AHP waste that currently represents a serious environmental problem for all countries. 👏 Congratulations to Marcello Somma, Giuseppe Landolfo and their team for this exciting milestone!
