U.S. Embassy Mexico City is supporting women-led organizations to #EndGBV. By nominating local leaders for International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) women on the front lines of working with survivors can discuss their experiences and share best practices with #GBV advocates in the United States. The underrepresentation of Asian-Americans, particularly East Asians, in leadership roles across various industries is striking—only 3% of executive roles are held by Asian-Americans, despite making up around 6% of the U.S. population. The representation of Chinese-Americans is even smaller, underscoring the urgency of our mission. At THICK, we are committed to addressing this disparity by focusing on the youth in our community. Through specialized programs in college advisory, business mentorship, and financial literacy, we aim to equip the next generation of Asian-American leaders with the skills and resources they need to succeed and break through the “bamboo ceiling.” #Leadership #AsianAmerican #YouthEmpowerment #Diversity #Inclusion #CollegeAdvisory #Mentorship #FinancialLiteracy

We are grateful to Susanna Tam, Chief Equity Officer at the City of Vancouver, and Michelle Bryant-Gravelle, Senior Director of Indigenous Relations at the City of Vancouver, for joining Sarah Greenwood last month as guest speakers in Minerva BC's in-house cohort of Women Leading the Way for City of Vancouver leaders. This powerful session focused on Advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, where Susanna and Michelle shared how their own lived experiences have shaped and informed their work in the EDI space. Participants left the session describing it as both #brilliant and #insightful, with key takeaways including: 📌Move at the pace of trust – Building relationships and progress takes time. 📌Listen deeply to understand what people are really asking – The power of listening with intention. 📌Recognize that everyone has their own story – Understanding what motivates others, with EDI often at the core. 📌Inclusive leadership is a core competency – Leaders are expected to lead inclusively, not just as an afterthought. 📌Integrate UNDRIP actions meaningfully – Incorporating these actions into our work, rather than treating them as add-ons. Thank you, Susanna and Michelle for joining us and helping us deepen this important conversation. #Equity #Diversity #Inclusion #InclusiveLeadership #EDI #UNDRIP #CityOfVancouver #MinervaBC #WomenInLeadership

🌟 Empowering Communities in Abudwaq 🌟 At HornCenter for Effective Governance & Policy Development we are committed to fostering inclusive leadership and sustainable development. On the second day of our consultation program in Abudwaq, our Program Manager, Mr. Mohamed Abdullahi Ahmed, engaged with community leaders to discuss the program's objectives and the critical role of women's leadership in driving progress. He urged elders and district commissioners (DCs) to amplify women's voices and actively support their participation in decision-making processes. Strengthening women's leadership is not just a goal—it's a necessity for building resilient and prosperous communities. We thank all participants for their valuable contributions and look forward to continued collaboration in achieving these shared goals.
