Did you know that by supporting the CEF Challenge program, you're not just filling a gap in the job market, but shaping the future of innovation? The demand for engineers is sky-high, yet too many engineering positions may remain unfilled --- 33% --- through 2030 unless we change that narrative. Meet Lexi K., a shining example of the impact of programs like the CEF #YouBeTheChemist Challenge. She participated in 2009 and is now a testament to what happens when we ignite young minds in #middleschool, especially among women and underrepresented groups. But here's the kicker - every single CEF Challenge winner pursued #STEM after high school, with 56% choosing #engineering and 44% specializing in #chemicalengineering. Are you curious about the cutting-edge fields of science that are shaping our world and beyond? 🌎 On the 5th day of STEM week, we invite you to explore four niche research areas that are pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation. 🚀   Computational Biology: This is the study of biological systems and phenomena using mathematical models, algorithms, and computer simulations. Computational biologists can analyze complex data, discover new patterns, and design novel solutions for health, agriculture, and ecology. 💻🧬 Ecopreneurship: This is the practice of entrepreneurs who pursue environmental and social goals through their businesses, such as reducing waste, promoting renewable energy, or supporting local communities. Ecopreneurs can create a positive impact, generate value, and inspire change for a sustainable future. 🌿💰 Cryonics: This is the preservation of living organisms at extremely low temperatures to potentially revive them in the future. Cryonics is based on the hope that future technologies will be able to restore the functions and memories of the preserved individuals. ❄️🕑 Geoengineering: This is the study of the atmospheres of planets outside our solar system to understand their composition and potential habitability. Geoengineers can use advanced tools and methods to investigate the physical and chemical properties of these alien worlds and possibly find signs of life. 🚀🪐   We hope you enjoyed learning about these fascinating and diverse fields of science. Through innovative methods and a keen understanding of young minds, the STOP-RACISM project blends education with engagement, fostering awareness while ensuring active participation. TraCE: The Travelling Case of an Experimental Archaeologist” is an Erasmus+ Project which promotes experimental archaeology as a means to develop interest and excellence in science and technology among school students (11-15 years old), particularly among girls. It also provides their teachers with innovative tools for the teaching of STEAM subjects (linking the STEM disciplines and Humanities) and promotes them as possible career opportunities for women and girls specifically.
