One of the most beautiful moments in Cincinnati men's final match was Carlos taking a moment during his speech to show love & appreciation to his big brother. A few key takeaways from that match I can relate to my day to day job. 1: Your job is not done until its done (Carlos own the 1st set and was leading 4-2 in the 2nd set, yet he didn't win the match) 2: Its okay to show emotions(or cry). In the end, we all are humans and emotions are part and parcel of our day to day work life (and of course personal life too) 3: Don't shout at your team just because you didn't get the result you wanted 4: Don't forget the team who helped you through out your journey (Carlos hasn't forgotten who helped him get there & he's making sure the world knows it as well) 5: Always smile (win or no-win). Its cost you $0

🐾 Talent Acquisition Managers: The Canine Heroes of Hiring! 🐶 Today, we had a special visitor in the office – HUGO!! We are assessing if we should make his position permanent. Here's why: Keen Sense of Smell: Just like our furry friends can sniff out treats from miles away, our talent team members have a knack for spotting top talent amidst a sea of resumes. They can sniff out the perfect candidate for the job, even in the most crowded job market. Unwavering Loyalty: Much like a faithful pup who sticks by your side through thick and thin, our talent team members are fiercely loyal to our partner companies and dedicated to finding the best fit for their teams. Eager to Please: Like a pup eager to fetch a ball, our talent team members are always ready to go the extra mile to ensure that candidates and hiring managers are happy. They strive to exceed expectations and deliver results with a wag of their metaphorical tail. Excellent Communicators: Just as dogs use barks, whines, and tail wags to convey their feelings, our talent team members excel at communication. Whether it's providing feedback to candidates or collaborating with hiring teams, they ensure that everyone is on the same page throughout the hiring process. Do you think he deserves a full time position? Either way, let's give him a round of apPAWs for his hard work and dedication today......and for dressing up so smartly for his first day! 🐾🎉 #TalentAcquisition #Recruitment #HR #DogsOfLinkedIn #OfficeFun

Master of Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management 2023-present, Florida; Master of Education in Leadership 2018, New Zealand.
I was waiting for this session for about two weeks but unfortunately, I missed it. The topic was interesting to me because it would have allowed me to hear some other opinions from a different audience/ experts. In 2018 I conducted a research paper about (Postgraduate learners’ perceptions of factors that support their autonomous motivation to learn in online contexts), when I did my 1st master's degree in New Zealand. I used the self-determination theory as the analytical framework to explore the factors perceived by online learners as supportive of their autonomous motivation to learn in online environments at a postgraduate level. The semi-structured interview findings that emerged from the inductive thematic analysis indicated that factors perceived as supportive of learners’ psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness, are more likely to enhance online learners’ autonomous motivation and promote the process of internalization allowing more self-determined types of extrinsic motivation to exist. Anyway, if anyone is interested, there is a copy of my research in my profile here on Linkedin if you want to check it out. Thanks, Dr. Miranda for keeping doing these kinds of interesting workshops and sessions.
Big thank you to Britanny N. Balthaser, BA, Lloydine O'Sullivan and Nelson Olivia for making this a fantastic session! 💙💛🐾

During the meeting, Stephen Bottomley highlighted a significant case where a contract that was set up on WhatsApp was deemed valid because the parties involved used a 👍 emoji as a form of acceptance. This case serves as a reminder that even seemingly informal methods of communication can carry legal consequences. It emphasizes the importance of using proper and formal channels when dealing with important agreements to avoid any ambiguity or misunderstandings. Networking isn't just for getting new business. Sometimes, letting the engineering team speak to the real problems can motivate the client towards real solutions. This whole notion of sales teams and engineering teams not being on the same page is a problem that I continually have to solve for companies, when brought in to handle "system issues". Sales teams provide feedback for engineers on the customer experience, and defines the fiscal opportunity/risk. Engineering teams provide insights to sales on design decisions, scheduling, known solutions, and should be the metric for a businesses productivity levels. It's very common for sales and engineering teams to not be on the same page, and the worst part of it is the number of companies who are okay keeping these skeletons in the closet - because who wants to take responsibility for the problem when it's you? #engineeringproblems #technicaldebt #brokencode #spaghetti #cicd #mismanagement #guidelines #regulations #procedures #mobileapp #softwaredeveloper

After the Ourspace chapter closed, it took me a while to find what I was looking for next. Shutting down my startup was the most introspective I've ever been about my career. I thought a lot about what I wanted to opt into, and more importantly what I wanted to opt out of. Circuit is the outlier I was looking for - bootstrapped, profitable, intentionally small, and exciting yet sustainable growth. Equally as important, I was looking for a place that's as intentional about *how* they work as *what* they work on. And when I say intentional, I mean it: We don't use Slack, OKRs, or scrum. And there are very, very few meetings. All of this is by careful design. And takes immense courage to not simply mirror "normal" ways of working just because everyone else is doing it. It's this kind of nonconformity that got me especially excited about working with Jack Underwood and the team at Circuit. Onward!
We're absolutely delighted to announce that Megan Murphy has joined the Circuit Team! Great to have you on board, Megan. 🎉
