𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 Consumers find the thought of using insects and microalgae in salmon feed hard to digest. Most people do not even know that wild salmon eat insects in the rivers. In the future, the salmon industry will require a greater diversity in sustainable raw materials which are beneficial to both salmon and the environment than current options, and microalgae and insects are promising raw materials. #PressRelease | IFOAM Organics Europe opposes this misguided CAP simplification as it lowers CAP's environmental delivery without providing more incentives for farmers to engage into sustainability initiatives. This prevents expansion of resilient agroecological and organic farms for the future. 🧐👉 https://ow.ly/jNG650RniSP The CAP simplification proposal that was voted at today's EP plenary fails to address real priorities: issues of prices and income in the agri-food supply chains, CAP's environmental delivery, incentives and support for farmers to engage in ambitious environmental re-design of their farms, which would make them resilient to future social and environmental crises. Farmers, especially those engaged in sustainable methods of production, such as organic farming, should be fairly remunerated by the CAP for delivering public goods, as well as the market. This CAP simplification proposal doesn't tackle these issues and is therefore unfit for the challenges lying ahead. #EPplenary #CAPsimplification #CAP #PublicMoney #PublicGoods #FairPayFairPlay European Parliament European Environmental Bureau WWF European Policy Office BirdLife Europe and Central Asia Corporate Europe Observatory Pesticide Action Network (PAN) Europe

At Johnvents Group, we believe that a sustainable cocoa industry is not just a goal—it's a necessity for the well-being of our planet and its people. Our recent training initiative has empowered our Licensed Buying Agents (LBAs) to become champions of sustainable cocoa farming and supply. By equipping our LBAs with the knowledge and tools to adopt sustainable practices, we're taking significant strides towards creating a deforestation-free future for the cocoa industry. Sustainable practices not only benefit the environment, but also provide a number of advantages for our LBAs. By adopting these practices, LBAs can improve cocoa yields and quality, gain access to new markets that demand sustainably sourced cocoa, and build stronger relationships with cocoa farmers. We're proud to be leading this charge and are committed to driving positive change across the entire supply chain. Together, we can protect our planet and ensure that future generations enjoy the benefits of a thriving and sustainable cocoa industry. #nourishingtheworld #fightagainstdeforestation #ethicalsourcing

That’s how you do it.
Cocoa is one of our main ingredients in the products you know and love. Making traceability a priority means that we can better understand where our cocoa comes from and under which conditions it's produced, so we can effectively manage and nurture our supply chain. Not only have we reached 93% traceability to farm level, but we've also created programmes that help support our farmers by improving their cocoa farming practices, diversifying their income as well as strengthening their communities. Our Responsible Sourcing Manager, Olivier Zwolsman takes you through the highlights from our sustainability report. To learn more, head to our website: https://lnkd.in/eJ34h7Bt

Food systems account for between one-third and one-half of global emissions. But a new report shows that solutions exist to cut them dramatically — and the investments required are within reach. Indeed, investments of about $205 billion a year, or 2% of global food systems revenues, could slash emissions by nearly half and unlock new opportunities for food companies. Alessio Perrone takes a look at the report. The report was a partnership with the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU), the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and the We Mean Business Coalition. #agriculture #food #report
