Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is taking practical steps through Green Pakistan Initiative to develop Pakistan's agriculture sector on modern lines.                 In this connection, precision agriculture method is being introduced to improve crop yield through use of advanced technology, reduce labour time and ensure efficient management of fertilizers and irrigation processes.  The Green Pakistan Initiative aims to eliminate malnutrition, cut down food imports and increase exports.  

Nigeria's agricultural sector suffers from a disorganized and fragmented structure, hindering innovation and progress. This lack of infrastructure mirrors the challenges faced by a hypothetical ride-hailing app in a city with a poor addressing system. Just as a robust addressing system is essential for efficient ride-hailing, a strong foundation is crucial for agricultural development. Without proper infrastructure, including storage facilities, processing plants, and support for essential resources, even well-intentioned initiatives to empower farmers will struggle to achieve sustainable impact. put more money into cash crop farming cooperative groups in rural communities on whatever crop they can farm and supply to the market in PNG and overseas.... let's farm whatever land we have in rural communities and sustain their livelyhood.... let's bring them to see subsistence farming can be converted into large scale farming projects... they need to see this process, understand how it works, once they are part of it and benefit in cash from it, they will accept it as part of their culture, so they will accept it and it will bring change to their mindset attitudes and behaviours ..as a result so they will have confidence in the government who funded this business opportunity in cash crop farming projects.... therefore PNG government must commit more money to invest in rural cash crop farming projects in the 22 Province in PNG and boost Agriculture to contribute positively in sustaining PNG GDP growth

A cornerstone of this budget is the substantial allocation of ₹1.5 lakh crore for developing agricultural infrastructure, including irrigation systems, warehousing, and cold storage facilities. This transformative measure will significantly reduce post-harvest losses and ensure that our farmers can store and transport their produce with greater efficiency. The government's initiative to develop large-scale vegetable production clusters closer to major consumption centres is a masterstroke, aimed at streamlining supply chains. To fight hunger and tackle food insecurity in Nigeria we need to adopt mechanized farming. In doing that, we shouldn't rely on rainfed farming alone, we have to develop suitable irrigation system across regions and maximise production and crop processing to add more value to our farm produce. In Nigeria we are bless with fertile Agricultural land for farming but farmers needs government and private sector support for provision of agricultural machinery and inputs to go into mechanize farming. Alluvium team (Simon Tilleard & Tarika Gulati) was crisscrossing the rural areas of #WestBengal to undertake #monitoringandevaluation (M&E) of few irrigation schemes under the The World Bank supported West Bengal Accelerated Development Monitor Irrigation Project (WBADMIP). This initiative is supported by the Australian Water Partnership (AWP) and we are working closely with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in delivery. The team conducted a pilot socio-economic survey that will be rolled out soon to collect data on the beneficial impacts of the subject schemes on men, women, marginal and tribal farmers. Initial observations from a small number of schemes indicated that the irrigation schemes are helping the users with better income as their farming practice is becoming resilient against the climate uncertainties. It is also ensuring villagers access to better quality of life as the income uncertainty has been reduced because of improved access to source water needed for farming activities in a hotter world. This is a very important article—an eye-opener! The interventions to reduce the carbon footprint of agriculture production eventually increase the natural resource intensity of the same. Introducing solar pumps to agriculture fields without mechanisms for judicious water usage like drip irrigation and aquifer recharge would result in catastrophes like drying up aquifers forever.
