We are so proud to be a partner of Fisher House Foundation and a sponsor of their 100th house! They broke ground last week and our Chief Supply Chain Officer, Jamie Bragg was present to help get the project started. We cannot wait to see this home completed and the impact it will have for Veterans and their families in the Chicago area.
Traveling the #Roadto100 has been an adventure, and we are almost there! Construction of the 100th Fisher House has begun at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center located in North Chicago, Illinois. Not only is this a huge milestone, but this house is unique in that unlike other Fisher Houses built for the VA or a particular military service, this will be the first-of-its-kind home built for the partnership between the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) integrating all medical care into a federal healthcare facility with a single combined mission. 2moThis is so amazing! My father spent his last days in the VA hospice care in West Palm Florida. We are from the Chicago area, so needless to say having to travel and be there at this very hard time was difficult. The Fischer House gave us a place where we could rest, be close to my dad, and feel comfort. This place is amazing and the people who cared for us were so so kind and loving. I thank God every day that we were able to be with our dad and focus on him. Thank you Fischer House, and I wish you all the best in this new location!
