Exciting times for Talascend International as Rebecca Mason our Group Compliance and Commercial Manager, touches down in Poland to finalise plans for us to become fully operational from our new office in Warsaw! Becca kicked off the visit by meeting with Jakub Plewka and Andrzej Davies of ACS, our payroll partners, over a delicious tapas dinner. Together they discussed our next steps and how we can develop our partnership over the next 12 months. The ACS team has been absolutely invaluable during this transition, and it was fantastic to finally meet face-to-face! Meet Jamie Osborne, one of our Talascend Recruitment Consultants and an integral part of our team! Jamie's journey to joining us began with a desire for a complete career change. With a background in retail, Jamie sought new challenges and opportunities to grow in his career. "My role involves managing the end-to-end recruitment cycle for clients in the energy sectors and expanding our international capabilities. While I primarily focus on white-collar engineering and project controls roles, project controls is where I feel most at home." 2.      What's your favourite aspect of your job? "Building relationships with people. Working in a role that allows you to do that every day is incredibly rewarding." 3.      What key skills do you believe are essential for success in your role? "Empathy is key in our business. Understanding others' perspectives goes a long way." 4.      What are your work-related and/or personal passions? "Work-wise, providing excellent service to our clients. Personally, I'm a bit of a pop culture junkie. Anything media-related, I'm here for it. I also love writing music, despite not being very good at it!" 5.      How has your role evolved since you first started at Talascend? "Massively! I started as a trainee with zero knowledge and now manage some of our biggest accounts and focus on international capabilities." 6.      What do you love about being a recruiter? "It's challenging but incredibly rewarding." 7.      What's the most interesting thing you've learned recently? "That Justin Timberlake sings the chorus in 'Where Is the Love,' not Fergie. Mind-blowing." 8.      What do you enjoy doing outside of work? "I love sports – Football, American Football, NBA, anything competitive I’ll watch (except golf). I also enjoy playing music, I’ve played in bands since I was 11, I wish I had more time for it now!" 9.      How do you unwind after a busy day? "I love cooking, so cooking a nice meal after a busy day is always great. Taking the dog out for a walk, watching films, listening to music. I love going to gigs, so if I can do that after work, then great!" 10.  What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done, or something on your bucket list? "Probably adventuring around Mayan Villages in Mexico." Thank you for sharing Jamie.
