An Official Statement from TARA Mind Chief Medical Officer Richard Nockowitz, M.D. “Simply put, TARA Mind has created the most responsible and affordable access to the safest and most personalized delivery of IV Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) available for individuals whose mental health conditions do not improve with traditional treatments. Recently, there’s been inaccurate information circulating about IV-Ketamine Assisted Therapy, creating misperceptions about the safety and benefit of this treatment when delivered responsibly. In fact, decades of real-world experience with thousands of patients treated at the most prestigious academic medical centers and treatment facilities has shown that this therapy is extraordinarily safe, life-changing, and even life-saving. Like any other medical treatment, IV Ketamine-Assisted Therapy should always be delivered in a monitored medical setting by trained, licensed clinicians. When done this way, it is unquestionably safer and more effective for depression, suicidality, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and even substance use disorders, than other currently available treatments. We have a collective responsibility to differentiate between the medically-supervised administration of this highly beneficial treatment and its unfortunate misuse without responsible medical supervision.” #TARAMind #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #HR #WorkplaceWellness

Embracing holistic health, psychologists are joining care teams. In 2023, 86% of psychologists worked with other types of medical professionals. Done working in vacuums, practitioners are consulting across disciplines to connect dots between mental and physical symptoms. It’s a game changer for patients with chronic pain, obesity, cancer and other illnesses — helping them address mental barriers to coping and healing. At present, psychiatrists are psychologists’ most common partners. But, as food-as-medicine goes mainstream, expect more crossover with primary care physicians and dietitians.

Joyous Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bobbi Leben, recently sat down with Dr. Drew on Health Uncensored to talk about the Joyous microdose mental health treatment and how it’s being used as a breakthrough treatment for patients struggling with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Ketamine was first FDA approved in 1970 as a dissociative anesthetic, and is on the World Health Organization’s list of Essential Medicines. In recent decades, it has been shown to help patients struggling with mental health conditions, even patients with treatment-resistant depression. On average, over 89% of Joyous patients report improved depression and anxiety symptoms in their first month of treatment with continued improvements over the duration of treatment. We’re dedicated to making this life-changing treatment as accessible and as safe as possible for patients to take from the comfort of their home. Many ketamine treatments cost thousands of dollars, making it inaccessible to patients and communities who truly need it. The Joyous program costs $129/month and with no monthly commitment. Patients work with licensed medical providers and have access to our Care Team via text or email, have a community of patients to support them, and we provide curated treatment courses and at-home therapy based practices designed to help patients build a new mindset, build new neural pathways, and process underlying emotions for lasting mental health improvements. Allied health professionals are a group of health care providers whose role and expertise complement the work of physicians. They are specialists such as physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nutritionists, and many more. For a person with Parkinson's disease (PD), they are just as important as movement disorders specialists and neurologists, and they help create a comprehensive, well-rounded Parkinson’s care team that caters to individual needs and addresses overall well-being. In this first episode of our Allied Health Spotlight series, we explore the benefits of including physical therapy in one's care plan. Exercise is a vital component for people with PD to maintain balance, mobility, and activities of daily living, so it should be part of the standard practice of care for every person with PD. Plus, research has shown that exercise is the only intervention with the potential to slow progression of the disease. In this episode, Physical Therapist Patricia Brown, PT, DPT, NCS of Chapman University in California, who specializes in neurologic diseases, discusses some considerations for exercising safely, taking into account the particular needs of people with PD. She also talks about how to get and stay motivated to exercise and where to find classes or programs. See: https://lnkd.in/ejq3teN5
